I'm really sorry if this is covered somewhere before, but I wanted to clarify some stuff.
You know how some people make pets based on like, characters from movies/books/whatever... Now, are there any restrictions on those regarding copyright or can we do whatever we want with them?
I seen people do pretty much anyt'ing dey want wit' 'em. (I have quite a few fanpets of me own.) So long as you do not outright copy anodder users idea, ye should have no problems with said copyright. Arr.
As long as you do not claim someone else's work as your own, and follow all other Subeta rules, I believe anything goes.
Well yeah as long as you don't claim the work as yours or do anything inappropiate with the fandom you should be fine; I have a few fanpets myself and all I have done is given them some TC items and colours C:
Okay, thank you... and one more question, could we give them an overlay that resembles the character? I guess as long as it's not a straight-up copy it should be fine?
As far as I know my Otacon and Raiden. both have examples of that :)
I have several fanpets and pets based off fan characters of mine, I've never encountered any issues. Two of my overlays, if you know the fandom (or just some history for the one), it's pretty obvious who they're supposed to be.
