Alright, I'm kind of new to the whole art purchasing thing, but I'm kind of in need here. I really want to start a new costume, but I have absolutely no ideas. That's where you come in! I need someone to draw me an idea for my costume ^_^

I would like it to have a renaissance-y/ mysterious feel to it (I will most likely wear it to a festival), so maybe a thief type character.

My wishes for the costume: I definitely want some type of tribal tattoo on the right side of my torso and face I will go for either a darker colored outfit, or one with more color like royal purples and reds I will sometimes do simple armor pieces Lastly, I love simple details!

Mostly I would like to know how much a drawing of something like this would cost (I'm a little poor at the moment but I can always save up!), would 1 million sP be reasonable? I also have these items if one of them would be more suitable payment:

Hello Portal! The price of art varies a lot depending on what you want, but generally 1mil is a bit low if you want a finished piece. Normally, personally, for a sketch of something this complicated I'd ask for between 1 and 3 mil, and for a finished piece something in the realm of 8 to 10 mil. My prices are fairly average I think, though they might be on the lower end of the spectrum. Many people also work for items in the same price range, or things from their wishlist. Alrighty got some stuff done real quick. (Click me!) I couldn't find my good pencils, so forgive all the hideous smudge and the incredibly messy lines please. Basically, there are three ideas:

1. This one is sort of a traditional thief costume, with some modifications. I tried to keep it from being too feminine, since dressing feminine would just be a detriment to a thief. We have the traditional bandaged arms, ragged pants, and bare feet for easy sneaking. Modified a plain "poet shirt" to be one-sided so that you could see the tattoos, which are obviously an important part of the costume. Lots of belts to hold things, couple of pouches here or there. Cloaks are understated in all the drawings, because they are not the focus, but I assumed they would be there since thieves and cloaks are like.. well.. like two things that don't go without one another. Tattoos here are sort of a stained-glass/plant look.
2. Sort of a happy medium, went with a tunic for the top, but left it sleeveless, again this is to show the tattoos, but also has the advantage of looking somewhat feminine without actually needing any "female" clothes. (I wasn't sure how accurate/practical you wanted these to be.) Gloves are the sort of bracer things you often see knights wearing, basically two bits of leather strapped together around the arm. Enough to protect from retaliating knives when you're picking pockets, or to hide a poisoned needle or two, but leaving the fingers totally free to do their work. Also would be relatively easy to make, which is a consideration. Trousers, then simple leather boots, for comfort rather than style. Belts and pouches of course and the famous Assassin's Creed hood. Tattoos more traditional tribal.
3. All the way into flashy-ville, an outfit that looks as awesome as it is impractical. Featuring the traditional thigh-high boots, booty shorts, a bustier, and a low-cut top. Also, arm-length finger-less gloves. Downside of the gloves is that they would hide much of the tattoos (didn't draw any on this idea for that very reason). So yeah, let me know which one (or which bits from each one) you like and I'll work on putting them together into a neater picture. :3

wow those are amazing! I like the top on 1, but could you make the sleeves like that on 2? I love all the belts and pouches :D For the bottoms I like 1 but without the piratey buckle and maybe the lower belt on 2. I really like the bandages but could I maybe have them on the lower leg/ ankle also? I prefer the normal hood on the cloak. Thank you so much :)
