Okay, im going to be blunt and honest

Ive struggled with weight my whole life. Occasionally ill loose some weight only to add it on and then some later. This past...i believe it was around May, i went to the doctor and i was 301. I have never hated myself so much before. I started taking phentermine off and on and am now down to ~270 (the lowest ive seen the scale this year has been 268). Now that I have moved back into my parents house I have noticed that im picking up bad habits again and this needs to stop.

I dont want to "diet" as much as i want a lifestyle change. I want this to be permanent, not a temporary solution that i get burned out of.

Ive been up all night watching youtube videos and searching stuff online but so many people say so many different things. So i ask you CC what are some tips/tricks that have worked for you or somebody you know to help loose weight and keep it off?

me at 300lbs Horrible picture but maybe if i stare at it long enough something will click

(didnt know if any of yall would have any suggestions, hope you dont mind the pings)

Aw, don't feel discouraged! :c Lifestyle changes are super hard. What do you like to do during your time off? Focusing on diet and limiting food will probably cause some weight loss in the short term, but it's not much of a long-term solution. Going neurotic in the process is also not cool. What helped ME out the most is getting a stationary bike. The reason I asked what you like to do is because if you're a couch potato like me, you'd probably get on board with still watching your shows / movies all while exercising. It's a have your cake and eat it too solution. I don't know how much stationary bikes cost at the moment. I wouldn't recommend the absolute cheapest one, because those aren't going to be comfortable to sit on for long periods. Of course... you could also get a treadmill, so it really depends on you, but imo, you can't go wrong with a bike and it will feel like you're not really doing all that much more than sitting around when you're getting a cardiovascular workout. :) I managed to lose pounds easily without actually changing my diet just by exercising consistently (that means almost each day) on my stationary bike. I'm not sure how your eating habits are, but if you start off with baby steps like changing the amount v. the actual food, I imagine you can't NOT lose weight. Exercise is great for not only your physical health (I mean you can't gain muscle through dieting alone or condition your heart, etc.), but also for your well-being. You'll feel so much better exercising instead of staring at the food label and counting carbs, saturated fats, etc. Not saying you do this, but it's something I have done in the past, and it definitely didn't feel good. |D

Play subeta hahaha!

And a stationary bike does sound like a good idea, i like riding much better than walking. Too cold to go outside and do it! And my habits are bad. I had started only drinking diet, but now thats out the window. I dont want to overdo everything at once, so im trying to take baby steps. My problem is i just eat because i like food, not because im hungry. Its all i can freaking think about. And yeah, all those labels are so confusing, i have no idea what the heck i am even reading!

Plus a bike's easier on your joints than a treadmill is. ;D What's great about a stationary bike at home is you don't worry about the weather or anyone else seeing you (I know I have problems with exercising in a gym with everyone in there |D). Depending on the intensity of your workout, you CAN burn a thousand calories in a single day. And once you get into the routine, it's so easyyyyy, trust me. It'll feel like second nature. It's so much more rewarding to see the calories burn rise up than restricting your favorite snack or guilty pleasure food (um who can say no to chocolate like pleaaaase, amirite?!). Maybe you can get the bike and plop it in front of your laptop/computer, assuming you play subeta on a larger monitor and not one of those new technological devices I can't keep up with lol.

Well i have people here that will still see me! I have thought about getting a membership to the 24 hour local gym, i work nights so there is no saying oh its closed. And i could probably get my family to come with and help with the motivation part. I havent looked into prices yet, so thats a factor i have to think about.

I have an app on my phone, but my phone has been really slow lately, so im thinking about starting a food journal. It worked well when i did the app....well, the app shows me calories too

Anyways haha

I wrote down some stuff for me to remember

Dont drink your calories No white foods No fried foods No cream based foods

i mean...thats simple enough right?

Omg, yes, those darn liquids hiding all them pesky calories. /shaky fists :x You could always try the healthier version of your favorites. Like baked fries v. fried fries (lol that sounded a tad weird). /nods You're taking steps and you're clearly motivated! You can do it! c: Some people don't even strive to lose weight. Hopefully the gym membership will work out alright for you! c: You could always check out ebay for used stationary bikes. In the long run, I still think a bike is better than renewing your gym fee unless you use your membership a lot. I wish you all the best~ n___n

I've been going to the gym for 2 years. No cake,no soda,no chips,no ice cream,no milk no and no and no everywhere.I treat myself sometimes(once in a decade) and I keep gaining weight. So really,I wish you the best of luck girl.

I got told by the doctor I eat to little.. I dont eat fries or starches stop drinking pop 3 years ago..I only drink coffee and water. But I gain weight I never eat a hole meal and I eat only 2 twice a day sometimes only once a day. when the doctor told me between meals to eat vegetables or some kind of fruit ..My thought process was like what if this back fires and I gain instead of lose.. He said that my body is storing the sugar, I think I will try it .. but I am sick of nothing working :"{

My mother is a bit overweight(if you refer to our height,we are shorties),my father is a stick.I don't eat a lot,I suffered from anorexia and boulimia for a while but in the end I won my battle. I can eat a whole box of chocolate with my brother and lose weight.I can eat like a rabbit and gain weight. The logic? noooone. I'm just going to say:You can be obese but walk a marathon. You can be obese and be fit like nobody business..So yeah,I wish I could be lean someday over the rainbow. Girl Code forever.Oh and the "fatties" is not to be taken as an insult here, please. -so

Everyday? You never change anything..?And please,do eat lunch everyday.Skipping a meal is worse because your body absord twice the value of what you ate. You need to include sports somewhere.Any local gym?You can train at home with gallon of washing soap or whatever.Run/jog 60 minutes a day and that's a good start. -so

Ah, i love that girl on girl code! Im sorry you and -so are having such a rough time losing weight

the phentermine i take really helps me, but my doctor said its only for a short term fix and in a few months it stops working, it also can mess with your heart, though i havent had any problems taking it, i didnt want to take it every day and become reliant upon it

-so Sorry to just barge into the convo, but have y'all had your thyroid checked? Hypothyroidism causes weight gain like no one's business and it's relatively common among women. ;c

No problem~ n___n
