I've been debating a cartilage piercing since summer and today, I decided to bite the bullet, so to speak.

It didn't hurt at all. I turned around to the woman who did the piercing and asked if she'd done it, all I felt was a tiny bit of pressure. I only got the left side done and it's the last piercing I plan on getting.
I am so glad I did it though! XD

Oooh it looks great, congrats!

Now, if it would just stop stinging the tiny bit it is...

Nice! I've heard those can really hurt, so it's awesome you escaped relatively pain-free. ^^
I heard the same thing, lol. I also heard of people saying it doesn't hurt at all.
My lobes hurt more than the cartilage. O.o

Hm, now that is weird. My lobes didn't hurt at first, but I ended up getting a slight allergic reaction to the piercing (or perhaps the special cleaning solution they gave me?). Luckily it got better so I could keep the piercings, but still. x.x I had wanted a cartilage piercing, but after that drama, I'm reconsidering it. :P
I've never had issues with the cleaning solution. I am, however, allergic to the gold and gold plating on most earrings. I have to have surgical steel and pure silver.

That is good! Now I wish you good fortune in avoiding any ear infections that potentially put you off ear-piercings! :) Sincerely. (Reflects upon own ear)
Some day I will get my cartilage pierced too. Been thinking about it so long. :c Someone told me to go to a place that does not use the piercing gun for it, as the gun crushes the ear. I have three sets of lobe piercings.
Congratulations! Those are one of the most painful piercings I've got. I remember when I got mine my ears felt so hot and they were all red. I have none anymore, couldn't bear with the morning pains after slepping on my ear. Those are just not for me....

Hee, thanks. c: This is technically my 3rd piercing, I haven't had issues yet, then again, I keep them fastidiously clean.
Mine was done with a gun. :I Huh. That's the third different thing I've heard about cartilage piercings. I think the most straight forward I got was the "Some people have pain, some don't."
Sankyew. c:
My first set... the left one was snagged in the process of being done. I had the instrument stuck in my ear and I have scar tissue to this day. Sleeping on it for the next couple days shall be interesting. xD

Good luck with that! I have an acquaintance who got his perineum pierced. Thankfully I'm not seeing but I do wonder how the fuck he manages to sit on his butt....

OH MY GOD. I'm not sure that's PG-13... XDD

Let's hope kids don't know what perineum is. AND KIDS, DO NOT GOOGLE IT. 😊 tehe

, congrats!
Also,
Isn't that ridiculously unsanitary, and painful, very painful. :x
He said it was the biggest pain he had ever passed through. Ridiculously unsanitary, totally @ ewk

I'm just trying to imagine how that type of piercing wouldn't get infected because it seems, in a place like that infection would be a huge issue.
This may be an issue, and I know I used to have it ALL THE TIME with my second ear piercing while it was healing but make sure hair doesn't get snagged on the cartilage piercing. Those type in particular tend to be a bit more easily infected.
Granted, I have fairly long hair( about waist length currently) so if you don't have long hair that's probably not going to be an issue.
My biggest problem comes when I think about how much the piercing moves when walking, sitting, laying... constant movement + dirty place = quite likely to get an infection. I am sure one must "shower" that part everytime one goes to make two.

Thanks. c:
I have long hair that comes down a little past my shoulders that, since this isn't my first piercing (obviously from the pic), I keep pulled back away from it for the first days and I'm very careful about laying on it and keeping it clean.
