I have a bajillion events in my dashboard and when I try to remove them, they disappear but reappear when I go to a new page.

I'm using Firefox 7 on a Mac. If it matters.

usually I have my tab set on dashboard with events there. If my events don't delete, it's usually because I was too hasty in deleting it. You have to wait after it completely collapses usually, but if that doesn't work, I go to Events instead of dashboard and delete the event from there (instead of the dashboard widget)

Yes, I had the problem in the past of being to quick about it so I tried doing it slow and waiting a good minute or 2 before going to a new page and they're still there. =/
