I can't seem to find anything on his profile and stuff. Am I just looking in the wrong place?

On the side navigation under Personal you'll see a link for Pets. Click on it and you'll be taken to your list of pets that will tell you their happiness/hunger/stats ect. Along with a bunch of other options.

Hover over the Personal tab and click on Pets. That page will give you their happiness / hunger levels :)
