Kumos 🎨 Visual Update December 18, 2025

Visual Update: Quest Bar Redesign!

The quest bar got a fresh new look! It now stretches edge-to-edge without any rounded corners for a cleaner appearance. Quest items are now displayed with smaller 32x32 images aligned to the left with item names to the right, making better use of space.

I love the give up button being moved to the opposite side vs next to the complete button. I always worry about hitting the wrong one by accident

the user shop / npc shop links kind of blend together visually on the quest page. (there's also still often linked to npc shops when the item is actually sold out)

Only 2 requested items show up per row now, there's way too much unnecessary empty space to the side of the individual item. :/image Screenshot hopefully included to show what I mean.

I do love that the "Give items" / "Quit quest" buttons are finally separated and color-coded though. I've hit "quit quest" more than once on accident, so this is a very nice QoL change!

There's a LOT of visual clutter when completing quests. One thing I vastly prefer about the legacy site is that pages are streamlined and contain the most necessary information I need. I adjusted somewhat to the Kumos questing layout (between the initial quest-giving pages, the item searches, the shops, and the quest reward pages), but felt like I needed to actively tune out information.

I think one way to help with the visual clutter would be to change the flavor text to be a little shorter upon accepting a quest. The horizontal bars that explain how many quests you have left, your time limit, etc. could be condensed, too. It also might be useful to think of arranging the site in vertical bars rather than horizontal, since that seems to be the way other parts of the site are going, visually? (Like the shops and user profiles.) I'm no expert in UI but I feel like consistency in how sections of the site are arranged could make it feel more usable.
