Remember Calling All Artists? Three of you made reactions that are now on the cosmetics page and unlockable across the site. It worked, I loved doing it, and I want to figure out how to make it permanent.

So here's an early look at what I'm building toward: 🥁 The User Creation Studio. I've been adding a bunch of achievements lately, and I want them to feel like things worth earning instead of checkboxes you tick on the way somewhere else. Instead of me designing every reward (you really don't want me to write titles.... or draw), you do. Pick an achievement, make a thing for it, get paid in CSC, get credited on the site forever.

Three contribution types:

• Titles (100 CSC) — for the clever writers among you
• Reaction Images (250 CSC) — 64x64 PNGs, your style
• Avatar Borders (500 CSC) — frames around user avatars

I've only put one achievement up to start, because what I really want right now is feedback before I scale this up. Specifically:

• Do the payout amounts feel right? Borders pay more than reactions because they take more work and show everywhere — does that math track for you?
• Is the submission limit (1 in flight while you're new, 3 once you've had one accepted) reasonable, or annoying?
• The no-AI rule: clear enough? I want it firm without being a lecture.
• The "pick an achievement first" framing: does that make sense, or does it feel restrictive in a way that'll kill people's ideas before they start?
• Anything I'm not thinking about? Edge cases, fairness stuff, things that'd make you not want to participate?

Same caveat as before: CSC isn't cash, and I know that. But every accepted piece gets paid and credited forever, and if this model works the way Calling All Artists did, we'll keep growing it.

I absolutely love this! Especially with no AI. Would this also open opportunities in the future for player created items beyond custom clothing? (Maybe we could have contests voted on by people for making holiday themed events and such too?)

Only issue? The link is broken and showing a 404.

Oof, haha, I was working on a very large post going over every single new & redone achievement with feedback that included rewritten descriptions & names, possible forum titles, and just some discussion of what the achievements even entail. I guess I'll keep working on that & get it posted anyway (or I can mail it to you, ?) rather than saving all that for this potential feature. 😅

Anyway, I do think this seems like a fun thing & love the idea of being able to really fill out the reactions! I do think having more avatar borders is also a good thing, but I feel like up until now they've been pretty exclusive (they were introduced over 5 years ago in August 2020 and in all that time we've only gotten 22 total) so I don't know about having too many popping up very quickly? That's definitely just a little knee-jerk reaction, though, not a real major issue!

I also want to mention that the forum title aspect of this is probably going to need to some kind of checker (maybe possible to automate?) to ensure the forum title doesn't already exist. This is probably true of both the title of the title (haha) as well as what text displays on the forums. There are.... 423 forum titles already, so very easy to get duplicates! In fact, this already happened in October 2024, when the composting feature had a prize bundle of forum titles that included "Batty (Syfyri is going batty)" but that had already been used for an achievement added in 2018, "Batty" which gave the title "Going Batty (Syfyri is going batty)."

Anyway, I really do think this is an exciting new thing & I appreciate you once again taking some of my feedback into account. I look forward to trying to make some contributions when this is fully available! :)

This seems very fun! In response to 's mention of duplicate titles. Is there somewhere to see all titles earned and unearned?

You can see them all on the cosmetics page in preferences (scroll down and click on "locked titles" to see the ones you don't have.) If you want a list that's a little more organized, there's one on the wiki - though looking at the numbers, it looks like that may be missing a few.

Also, that reminds me - there's no way to indicate when you're submitting a title if it should be before or after a username (or both!) so that should probably get added? Also on that page it says "The actual title text (what shows on profiles)" but that should say forums instead.

This is really cool!

I think it'll really add to the achievement system too, and is a great way to contribute to the site without going full on into custom wearables. I'm hoping I get some time this week to check this out : )

Is this open for all of the achievements? In the screenshot on this post there's a list (with just the one achievement), but when I go to the User Creation Studio page there's no specific achievements listed on it.
