Im at my wits end trying to zap my one pet into 699. ive spent so much money and time zapping him over and over and over. if the potion does experiments too, at this point ill just save up for that instead

It does, there's also the (changes your pet into a random experiment) which is cheaper than doing the 400k guaranteed experiment option on the zapper even if it's still up to luck as far as which experiment you get, but is almost definitely much cheaper than the miracle potion unless you have just the absolute worst luck.

there's also the potion totem in the loyalty box! not sure if you have one laying around but that would also work~

nope, that would not work. as per the description, the loyalty potion totem changes color. unfortunately there is no loyalty box item that changes species.
