There are many things that are great. Like the new update to games for example the fishing game is now actually fun. Instead of having to find the exact pixel which is basically impossible and with I think even less info. The change to quests having a little window on most pages allowing you to go from shop search to shop search getting all the items and then completing it on the same page the last item is aquired is amazing instead of having to open new tabs for each item buying them then going back to the quest tab and finishing. How CSS is now snippets that allow users to sub to one and if something happens and the code needs a fix then that can happen and others don't have to be informed and told to copy new code and replace old code they just get the fixes and there are other things too.

But this post isn't about that I just wanted to mention a couple things that I liked before a list of "issues" to show that I'm not just hating and that I want things to get better and the way to do that is providing the neccessary feedback for things to get looked at, changed and/or fixed. Now on to the fun....

Nav bar Why does the Home tab have two links that go to the same place? They're different links but same destination they labelled "Dashboard" and "News"

  • added note nav widget doesn't have the "Dashboard" so should be removed from nav bar too

might be just a me but I also find it weird that some links are in multiple tabs: instances < Explore - Home and Interact < Search Shops - Home and Commerce (Labelled User Shops) < Main Shops - Interact and Commerce

inconsistencies between navigation widget and the nav bar (was mentioned to me) Tabs that are entirely missing are Commerce and Cash Shop
~ I think the two should be consistent with each other

Home
"Cash Shop"
~ bad labelling imo since it links to Cash Shop Subscriptions (when page is made) will def cause confusion
~ I think label "Monthly Subscriptions" would be nice or use the one legacy has "Subscribe"
~ should be in the Cash Shop section for further clarity
~ link doesn't exist on nav bar

"News"
~ broken link on widget "https://kumos.subeta.net/news/p" should be "https://kumos.subeta.net/news/"

"Search Subeta"
~ No issue on the navigation widget but the nav bar still links to the legacy frame page should be changed

"Logout" (Nav bar)
~ doesn't exist on the widget

"Help" (Nav bar ~ Legacy)
~ doesn't exist on widget (case a bit different I think it fine)
~ could have a plain text entry as a placeholder "Help (WIP)"
Forums
"Forums"
~ link on widget goes to error page "https://kumos.subeta.net/forums/recent" could be changed to "https://kumos.subeta.net/forums"

"Groups"
~ Currently goes to a borken page
~ Nav bar still links to the legacy frame (which I assume is also broken since the frame uses old forum group link that contains #)
~ label is different between nav bar "Forum Groups" and widget "Groups"
~ should be consistent

"My Subscriptions"
~ I feel the old label on legacy was nice and clear "Subscribed Threads" in comparsion
~ Doesn't exist on nav bar at all (should be added)

"My Posts"
~ Nav bar has a legacy frame link that is labelled "Recent Posts" should be changed to kumos link
~ I both like and dislike the label for this one, for consistency I put "Your Posts" instead gives impression of ownership and is consistent with the older label of "Your Shops" and implies the site is "talking" to the user which I like imo
~ Additional Note: A consistent use of "My" or "Your" is way better than using both: like I said I prefer "Your" but if I'm minority I still apperciate it all being one instead of flip floppy

"Recent Topics" (nav bar)
~ doesn't exist on the widget
~ nav bar still links to legacy frame

"sCode Reference" (Nav bar ~ legacy)
~ Kumos page exists but Nav bar still links to legacy frame page needs to be updated kumos link for users interested in looking "https://kumos.subeta.net/forums/help/formatting"
~ doesn't exist in widget should be added
~ label could be change to "Formatting Reference"
Interact
"Friend Feed"
~ link goes to a blank white page, sometimes shows error message
~ strange label in widget when link just goes to friends page, same as Nav bar "Friends" link, remove Feed

"Games"
~ navigation widget link just goes to the tiles game instead games room should be change from "https://kumos.subeta.net/games/tiles" to "https://kumos.subeta.net/games"

"Mail"
~ Also a white page like Friends page
~ Nav bar still label this link as "sMail" while widget is just "Mail" needs to be the same (consistency)

"Wishlists"
~ bad label link goes to Browse Wishlists and the same label is in Nav bar tab Personal but that links to legacy frame page that shows the user's wishlists meaning it'll be confusing can change the widget to "Browse Wishlists"
~ does not exist in Nav bar should be added

"Activity Feed" (Nav bar ~ Legacy)
~ doesn't exist on widget? although it opens legacy frame page that is "Friend Feed"
~ should be labelled differently "Friend Feed"
~ sort of doesn't exist on widget and it should cause consistence

"Subetapedia" (Nav bar ~ Legacy)
~ Same as Help mentioned above summary ~ Kumos page doesn't exist and not on widget
~ could have a plain text entry as a placeholder "Subetapedia (WIP)"
Commerce (missing on widget should be added with all links that are on the Nav tab) special mention Trades (Nav bar ~ Legacy)
~ Doesn't exist on kumos yet
~ could have a plain text entry as a placeholder "Trade (WIP)" for widget
Personal
"My Pets"
~ goes to broken page change link from "https://kumos.subeta.net/pets.php" to "https://kumos.subeta.net/pets"
~ label on widget "My Pets" and Nav bar "Pets" labels should match

"Wardrobe"
~ Slightly different link between Widget (https://kumos.subeta.net/wardrobe/home) and Nav bar (https://kumos.subeta.net/wardrobe) should be the same probably the first one
Prefs
"Dashboard"
~ bad label links to settings page, should be labelled "Settings" cause people are used to "Dashboard" having a different meaning which I assume will be eventually be added since Nav bar has legacy frame link labelled "User Dashboard"
~ not on nav bar needs to be there

"Cosmetics"
~ doesn't exist on Nav bar should be added cause consistency

"Sidebar Widgets"
~ label is different between nav bar "Customize Sidebar" and widget "Sidebar Widgets" ~ should be consistent

"Edit Profile"
~ Nav bar link still uses the legacy frame page should be changed to kumos page

"Tickets" (Nav bar ~ Legacy)
~ Same as Help mentioned above summary ~ Kumos page doesn't exist and not on widget
~ could have a plain text entry as a placeholder "Tickets (WIP)"
Since it's a bit relevant, I understand some changes to the menu between legacy and kumos

  • Just to mention a couple things I like that forums has it's own tab now instead of being in a tab with a sub tab and that the subeta tab is now called Home

  • Though I do wonder why some links are just entirely missing not even a legacy frame link to represent it < Item Directory - (not implemented: no frame link) this is quite a useful shortcut hope it makes a return < Special Shops - (only one shop implemented but page exists) - it's basically linked no where I figured out how by going to currency vault then new years shop then editing url: def needs adding (just put a warning like "Caution: WIP shops being slowly added") < Referrals - (not implemented?: no frame link) I hope this system isn't going away

next is slightly different format < Why is the cash shop tab just the main link why isn't there shortcuts like I think some are not needed but some would be great like (also in this order after the main link)

  • Buy CSC - this is just nice cause someone sees something they want but it cost csc blam they can get to the page quick meaning they more likely to follow through and buy csc
  • Subscribe (label should be Buy Monthly Subscription OR Buy Subscription) shows there is a monthly sub to people
  • Gold Accounts
  • Custom Wearables, they're special and should have a nice shortcut to them I think these are the bare minimum that should be added that are on legacy though I think many people would apperciate a short cut to Reward Cards

Setting Pages Inconsistencies I think it needs a consistent look < There are about three different scenarios with the in page settings menu is exclusive to mobile/small screen

  • one: menu there and no issue
  • two: some pages don't have the menu at all the list below which makes going to another page in settings annoying
  • Security
  • Popover Colors
  • Sidebar Widgets
  • Privacy
  • three: on mobile other than general the settings menu is a button that is floating and appears in the top left corner meaning hidden until the page is scrolled down enough to not be under banner/nav (I mention about this later) to fix this just make the the button like the one on General setting page

Before I move onto mobile stuff I'd like to mention my device is a Samsung A17

Mobile/small screen version Pages that overflow the screen (makes nav bar not go across the whole page/add horizontal scroll bar) [NOT Glass]
< Explore - map doesn't resize it too big
< Basically every location image is too big, locations listed below

  • Artic Frost
  • Centropolis
  • Darkside
  • Delphi Beach
  • Delphi: Carnival
  • Galaxan Wastes
  • Omen Islands
  • Port Plunder
  • The Galley
  • Peka Park
  • Pina Park
  • Riverside Valley
  • Sacred Lands
  • Shadowglen
  • Shadowglen Underground: Underground Square
  • Shadowglen Underground: Commerce District
  • Shadowglen Underground: Root Forest
  • Shadowglen Underground: Skylight Cavern
  • Underground Fishing
  • Shengui Guo
  • Veta (image broken as well ~ easy fix change src from "//img.subeta.net/map_vetalake_2015_night.png" to "//img.subeta.net/map_vetalake_night.png")
  • Ziara City

< During a quest the quest helper that appears around site causes the page to overflow

< Fishing game map a bit too big and abandon game button causes a bit of overflow < Minion Zoo - Start Battle button overflows page < Minion Battles - Buttons overflow the page < Minion Battle Leaderboards - back to battle button overflows page < Subeta Tiles Play game the tile tray causes a slight overflow < Subeta Tiles Highscore page the score table overflows page

< Changelog page, the comment/view feature overflows it's container which causes page overflow and it's the following that are affected

  • Kumos: New Feature
  • Kumos: Improvement
  • Subeta: Visual Update

< Shops Autopricer - clear all button causes overflow < Auction House navgation bar overflows the page < Auction House My Auctions contents would cause overflow as well < Auction House Create - steps would cause overflow

< Wardrobe every page - wardrobe nav bar < Wardrobe Outfits tab - button "Save Current Outfit" would overflow page without nav bar

< CSS Snippets Page - snippet nav bar and the grid box for a snippet also overflows a bit < Active Snippets page - snippet container changes but contents don't adjust to size causing page to overflow < Viewing a CSS snippet sample card overflows the page

< Forums depending on the post it can overflow it's box and cause page overflow so this Post is a good example

Now let's mention glass, I assume this is for non-mobile users? If not...

  • The banner is way too big this cause a huge overflow on every page
  • also if the above is fixed the top nav bar contents overflow the page just a tiny bit

I don't have much experience with Glass, I only noticed it recently but just gonna mention what I noticed initially when I took a look at it... the page set up is side bar then page contents underneath that just seems like a strange layout to me

General Observation I noticed that pop-up windows and similar get hidden behind the banner and nav bar and that is caused by the container that holds both those elements having a class that set z-index to 9999 so to have anything appear infront of banner/nav bar it's z-index needs to be set higher then the previously stated number meaning it needs to be at least 10000 to appear infront.

  • I got the pop-up side bar to appear above by setting it to 10000 z-index
  • I also saw that the z-index is needed so that the pop-up/mobile nav bar menu gets put over the page contents, but should be fine to have it as a much lower number without issue

Misc Mobile Suggestions Was doing some experiments with CSS to improve the visuals for me on mobile one of the main things that I did was get the side bar to pop up and go from top of screen to bottom with some other changes including getting the element back that can cause sidebar to close by touching whitespace and I moved the close button off the sidebar into white space so it no longer overlaps and increased size. One of the main changes I did to get things to work was move the overflow from just the sidebar to the side bar tabs which is has a nice effect of allowing someone to scroll their dashboard/event tab then switch to the other tab without needing to scroll back up

I don't like that the whole nav bar becomes a link to the news page when in desktop it's only the left side I wish it was like that on mobile cause then you could easily do the next thing

  • have the nav bar menu button on the nav bar instead of weirdly floating over the banner think it be so much nicer I didn't put all the things I changed but I did make the main things into a snippet and a comment for almost each selector Snippet for a quick way to see what I am talking about

I didn't mean for this post to be so long sorry about that... I hope this is detailed enough. If there is anything that I mention that is unclear please lmk I'll try to clear it up, just it took quite a while to compile especially the page list.

P.S. There are many great things about Kumos, just keep in mind about negativity bias when looking at feedback and such. Keep up the hard work on those improvements.

I made a forum group for CustomCSS and more
