I've seen more remarks made on the layout wonkiness than the lag so I'm feeling less sure if I'm the only one still lagging and feeling sludgy connections. π
it is ridiculously slow and has been for days. takes me hours to do quests ;___;
On specific pages, mainly. The search shops page is still a little slow when I'm searching for something, the forums are occasionally slow to load, the achievements page can be a little slow sometimes too, and pages with lots of items (inventory, vault, foods pet has eaten, special shops) do often take their sweet time to load. My pets page is also really slow; the first day after the site'issues on Monday, I couldn't load the page on Legacy at all because it would time out instead (I just checked the page and it's still taking over 30 seconds to load). The rest of the site feels fine.
I try not to think. It interferes with being nuts.
It is extremely slow after the recent change on Legacy to PHP 8.4 that mentions in this post.
I specifically asked about the lag and when we can expect Legacy to run seamlessly as it had prior to the recent change, and this was Keith's response. I am hoping for the best, but I do feel there is some underlying issue with the new programming that will result in the need for some overhauling or big change. I don't know anything about programming, so I am only going off my observations over the past year - Kumos has always been slow and clunky and Legacy was not until the recent programming change.

From the sound of Keith's post it's nothing to do with the new coding (which makes sense - why would clearing a bunch of old redundant code slow things down?), it's the simultaneous switch to a new provider. It does seem like this new/current provider isn't going to work out and can't handle subeta, and it also seems like Keith knows that. I'm optimistic that he'll switch us over to a NEW new provider asap, because yeah it's a slog right now. But he's been very present fixing up other QOL stuff in the meantime, and I trust him when he says he's looking at options bc he's very unhappy with the current performance.

That doesn't explain why Kumos has been running so poorly for the past year +. It has never ran seamlessly, so I'm inclined to believe that it's more than just a provider issue. However, hopefully that's all it is and it's an easy remedy to find another provider.
