I was wondering what the best option is to do with items I don't need when I want to go both for things in the crystal shop and in the recycling shop - I have been focusing on fragging (aka fragmentizing) basically everything, but I read that it's good strategy for the Recycling Beast to save items of low rarity points and there's a bunch of things in that shop I'd want too!

What's your strategy / is there a best strategy for this?

Not sure if this is the best strategy but it's what I personally do and it seems to work out pretty well. All holiday/game items go to the recycle beast. Hoarding things like from the game Random or Item Hunt is good for a bulk recycle run. He's guaranteed some cheap holiday/game items each refresh so it's easier to hoard things that way. Less of them means he's more likely to ask for one you have. Also if you have a battle pet he'll ask for cheap challenger items too sometime.

As for fragging. If you have Wizard tokens use the vending machines!! I can not stress this enough. Any vending machine will do. Use all 250/500 vends if you can daily. Sort your inventory by user price and anything 8k and lower gets fragged, anything above gets thrown in the shop for some sp. Sp can be used towards a daily sp melting at the recycler too!

All in all you want to save up more frag crystals first because when the shop restocks it's limited stock and the items aren't a guarantee. Recycle shop items are there always so it's good to save up slowly when you can.

For RB, I try to recycle a small amount each day, buying from user shops. Like said, the shop items aren't limited, so I prioritize fragging my cheap holiday/special/retired/whatever items than saving them. I'm not very organized, so this works better for me.

For fragging, I Quick Stock everything in my shop > sort for any item less than 3k. This way I 'break even' VS selling the item. I save my Wiz Tokens for TS restocks and the Blackheart Hollow, so I don't vend. I do my Battle Quests everyday, so I naturally end up with hundreds of cheap items to frag. Sometimes, I go to Kumos shops to buy up 200 cheap items (less than 1k) to frag too.
