It's been so nice to come back to Subeta after a period of absence. It's got me thinking about all the MMOs and Online social games I have played or been witness to over the years. Of course, I'm often reminiscing anyway regardless of whether or not I'm engaged, lol, but regardless! I was just last night doing some youtube searching on the state of Gaia, as I saw someone's profile on here mention it as a secondary site for them. I remember Gaia fondly though I was very young when I first discovered it, and thusly didn't really possess the dedication to get deep into it. I was thinking -and I find this humorous- about how in the world of online personalities some people are somewhat rudely, though I hope the reader will admit, humorously, labelled as being The Evil Version or The Good version of each other. Sort of a doppleganger effect meets internet discourse about outcomes. Anyway, just that notion coupled with this nostalgia made me come to realize, Subeta is like the Good Guy version of Gaia (Not to mention Neopets, which admittedly I have perhaps even less experience/attachment to than Gaia), lmao. Not to knock Gaia or anyone who plays! Just my personal opinion for what I have chosen as my refuge from other things. I don't have any connections on Gaia either so there's that, but I do have One Friendo on here, so I have just that much more reason to be a Subetan than a Gaian. I am glad that Subeta has remained so accessible to new players over the years, and to old players as well. Always here, always waiting, always enjoyable. I was thinking of my Gaia avatar, the first one I made, was a tan skinned fellow with very long green hair (starter/default choices) and how my personality was back then. And then I got to thinking about all the avatar makers I have used across the breadth of my life, and how Gaia used to have the DreamAvatar feature. Man, how much time I killed making avatars in that thing, and how it expanded my tastes. That's why the Subeta Wardrobe is great, it's basically a Dream Avi creator where you have the goal of acquiring your items to make your magnum opus public. It's great. Among others, my mind always drifts back to Habbo Hotel, Adventure Quest, Maplestory (I'll add here that if Subeta had an OST, I feel it would be the Maplestory OST, I always think of putting it on while playing Subeta and gosh darn it, I'm gonna do that next time I do quests), and here's a pretty obscure (And bad) one, granted it's less of a social game and more of a typical 3d MMORPG: Knights of Sherwood. Being 30, Knights of Sherwood was a game I played at age 10, in school actually, on school assigned laptops (They were just rolling this initiative out I believe). We used to play at recess or lunch, sitting beside each other at the tables, pretty much seeing if we could decipher how to progress in this very barebones but charming looking game. I remember the kind of songs my friends were interested in at the time, and laughably, Weird Al's "The Drive Thru" is the most standout lol. It's interesting to search that game up on youtube and see how, while we youngsters were drooling and clicking around, others actually made clans and had reunions and such, and recorded them to post to yt. Those were the days... I just thought I'd share a few thoughts. If anybody else wants to chime in, post away!

I've only been to the Neo system and this the Sub system as my fursona and later this UN.

I would mention the Pokeworld and Temtem as additional stops of my character's travels.

But I'm also an old obsolete model, chiming in Terminator both in my HA and in persona. In that character I keep to myself, following "default programming" as it were.

I've made friends here, and had the pleasure if contacting them parallel to the site. That's a big step for someone like me, a misfit among misfits. Zo I cannot fully detach under stresses, just keep a safe distance under duress.

ATM I'm under scrutiny for running my mouth on the boreds, so I keep a low profile.

When I came to Subeta (this January!) it was through someone who mentioned, off-site, that they like using both Subeta and Gaia as dress up games. I went to Gaia too but bounced off of it hard, I didn't vibe with the look and the feel was confusing.

Subeta I vibed with the look, but the feel was definitely still confusing! Being redirected to Legacy pages without understanding the Kumos/Legacy divide, my avatar was just broken on Legacy the first few weeks (it needed a reset - staff member fixed it for me!), and sometimes I think it may have been nicer to join the site when it is fully Kumos, rather than this somewhat chaotic-feeling in between.

But at the same time, what an exciting time to be here! I can see things changing in real time, and Subeta is scratching an itch for me - I was on Neopets for many years and the nostalgia hit hard, but Subeta is a formula that suits me much better now, in my 30ies. I love the addition of the Human Avatar on top of everything else, the achievement hunting and the questing. I used to know how to code a really basic "pet site" and I simply don't have that in me anymore but I'm thinking it might be fun to learn again. I want to customize my pets' profiles fully.

It feels nice here. And the Blue Building is fun too! The shop there has a LOT of nice things I'm eyeing, but currently I'm saving up blue building points for achievement purposes :D

I am glad to hear of your character's travels! I understand what you mean overall. Your description resonates with me greatly. It's tough. Glad to have you posting with us though! The more the merrier, we just gotta do our best and try to be fair to ourselves and all that abounds. Posty posty!

I suppose it's still early enough to say welcome! I myself have returned from a hiatus, so indeed seeing the new kumos stuff was a bit confusing here as well! Understandable totally, I've felt the same about other things, basically where the trade-off of waiting is that smoother introduction process, yeup!

It's such a good itch-scratcher haha and yes the HA really is the cherry on top that takes the neopets formula to the next level. That's impressive! Yeah I only really got as far as adding some images on my profile, I've always been too intimidated to really get into the deep website coding knowledge but I really admire people who can put together a nice webpage.

Your review of the BB makes me even more excited to get there! Smart move saving up, we must fight the temptation to pre-emptively spend haha.
