Enjoying the layout changes so far, but there are two things that caught my eye and feel like they stick out a bit - the clock and the avatar headshot.
I don't quite understand why the clock needs to be a widget when it was a part of the layout many many times before.
The headshot is useful as a shortcut to Kumos settings, but the profile link seems slightly obsolete (our username already takes us to our profile!). However, it also looks out of place in its current position.
So, I'm proposing a little tweak to their positioning that I believe helps them fit a little better into the overall layout. Images below. First example is current position, second is the suggested tweak - moving the clock to the very empty space on the menu bar and moving the headshot to the "User Info" widged. Third example is the same, except the headshot is in front of the "User/Pet/Status" lines in the "User Info" widget.

I like this... except a piece of feedback I've gotten over the years from users is that they dont like that the clock is on the layout, they have it on their computer and it makes them anxious to see it while they're browsing. Moving to the widget felt like a compromise for those folks!
I'll think about how we can make it a preference or something to have it show up there :)
And we have the "user avatar" widget, where you can choose a full size or avatar of your avatar to show up. I agree that it looks really nice in the user widget, though!

Oh, I see! That's understandable. I got used to the clock being a part of the layout on every pet site community I've been on so it felt strange not having it on the layout, hahah!
I'm wondering... Would this be possible: have the clock as a widget, but give it position settings: sidebar, or layout? I imagine the layout position could be further tweaked with customCSS. Been a dog's age since I've played with CSS, so I don't know if it would be a smooth to move it from the sidebar without leaving a gap.
Ah, I know about the human avatar widget! I have that one disabled but that headshot still shows up. So I was assuming it was going to be a permanent fixture of the layout and moved it somewhere there it blends in much better. Glad you like it!
