The New Years Shop is now running on Kumos instead of the legacy system. This is the first special shop migration, and I want to get feedback before moving the others over.

What's New

The shop now has proper filtering:

  • Search - Find items by name
  • Type filter - Filter by item type (Wearable, Food, Toy, Book, etc.)
  • Price range - Set min/max price limits
  • Category tabs - Browse by year (2025, 2024, 2023... back to Pre-2010)

All 982 items are there, same prices, same currency. Token turn-in still works.

What I'd Love Feedback On

  1. Does the filtering work as expected? Try filtering by Wearable or Food and let me know if anything seems off.
  2. How's the layout? Too cluttered? Missing anything obvious?
  3. Any items showing up wrong or missing entirely?

What's Next

If this works well, I'll migrate the other special shops (Millionaire Center, Token Shop, Quest Shop, etc.) using the same system. As I build on this, I can add shop-specific features - different purchase cooldown timers, daily limits, seasonal pricing, that sort of thing.

Which shop would you like to see migrated next? If there's a particular special shop you'd like some attention given to, let me know.

Check out the New Years Shop

Thanks for testing!

Biggest complaint-When I buy something, it doesn't go back to the same filter settings I had it on (So like, I bought something with 2021 selected and Food filtered, it stayed on 2021 but removed the food filter and is showing all 2021 items instead). Which would be very annoying to try and buy multiple items at once (like when the new items are added for the year). You can get around this problem by holding the control key down while clicking so it opens in a new tab or whatever, but it would be nice not to have to do that.

First issue: The 2026 section is missing!

Thoughts about filtering:

  • It would be preferable to be able to see what year you have selected, probably by having that button be a different color.
  • It would also be nice to be able to unselect a year and go back to seeing all years at once.
  • One of the filter options for item types is "collection" but this only shows plushies.
  • Some item types are missing from the filter options: beanbags, plushies, and stickers.
  • The search option pulls up results from both an item's name and its description. This could definitely be useful sometimes but also has the potential to pull up a lot of unintended results.

Some minor layout things:

  • I'm not sure the box icon next to the years is necessary. It's not terrible, but it is repetitive without providing any actual information.
  • I don't think the item names should be bold, it just feels like a little much.
  • Having the little icon of the currency next to the price is a cute touch! Thinking ahead a little bit, though, that will be more difficult for Survival - since there are many different candy hearts & it could be confusing to receive an item that doesn't match what's displayed in the shop.
  • I understand the reasoning for cutting off the names of longer items and obviously you can see the items full name in its hover, but it just feels a little weird to see.
  • When a row has items with names that take up both 1 and 2 lines, the buy buttons no longer line up, which makes it look a little messy.

Not sure if this is feasible, but a random suggestion: with all these filtering & searching options, something that would be really handy to see would be a cost total for all the items you're currently looking at.

Love this idea. Being able to select just books and decend by price is fantastic.

Second that I wish it didn't reset the filter after purchase. I often need to buy 74 of a book and the reset will slow purchasing way down. It be even better if there was a sperate section where you could enter a number of an item to buy. Then I could buy 74 of X book at a time instead of 74 individual purchases.

Seperate but related, it would help if account search listed pets in the order you set on the pet page. It looks like its currently set to age of pet.
