Have just returned to Subeta after a long (since 2016) time, and, after recalling the core gameplay, decided to make my first Hydros pet. I googled how to make it, but I'm not sure if I'm looking for Merana the right way. I mostly check https://subeta.net/explore/ and Omen Islands itselves. Can she appear in any other location as well? Are there best times to check for her? Am I even doing it on the right site?

she appears randomly on the world map (https://subeta.net/explore/)—as in a literal picture of her will be overlaid somewhere on the image of the map, and you can click on it to do her quest. don't bother checking in the specific locales, it's not possible for her to show up there.

afaik there's no way to predict when she'll appear, but when she does she'll stick around for a little bit (maybe like 30 minutes?). i swear there used to be a topic or forum group for alerting people when she shows up, but i can't for the life of me find it right now.

Were you aware that there's a ping group called Merana-spotting? You'll get a ping in your events when she shows up. She's usually available for 12 hours, so you can just check back to see if you've been pinged.

One week later, I'm still looking for Merana. Haven't met her once. The group for pings doesn't work - seems like there are no active players in it (or at least those who care enough to ping) anymore. If anyone sees Mer, pls ping me here - maybe I'll be lucky enough and will be online and get the ping.
