The wizard has shorted me twice -- I think it happens when the site lag is so bad the reward drops to 10 wizard tokens instead of the 15 plus 5. Maleria stiffed me 3 times. I didn't notice anything different with her, except for the site lag. It was 2+ minutes to get a single item using the user shop search link when the lag was at it's worst with her.

Is this just me, or are others having problems too?

Update: The wiz just gave me the 15 + 5 with no New Year token, so it's not lag.

I don't believe every quest complete will give you a token I think it's totally random when they are added. Kinda like a bonus item really. I've done several quests and didn't get tokens every quest.

As said, it isn't an every quest reward thing. It's a high chance for you to get one, but not a 100% chance.

I thought that with Major Drills this summer during the Anniversary, but it turned out to be a glitch. He was ripping people off. The announcement makes it sound like we're supposed to get one from the people who give them out, but not everyone gives them out. Does anyone know for sure?

The chance doesn't really seem to be that high, though. I'm questing right now and did 15 Wizard/Cinthia quests up to now, with a total of obtained New Years Tokens of 4. If it stays like that, we get New Years Tokens for approximately a third of all completed quests which I wouldn't quite call a high chance.

Okay, to update that: I'm done with Cinthia, the Wizard and Maleria now, skipped a few and completed thus 53 quests. Out of that I now have a total of 17 New Year Tokens. I absolutely don't think that that is a "high chance", sorry.

It should be a 1/3 chance (Keith and I are monitoring how many are going out and will change it more as the day continues if need be)

okay, thanks for confirming then, it's fine. I think I just understood something else under a "high chance" and wondered about it.

When I said higher chance, I was thinking about how it was a higher chance than like the speciality prizes we've been giving quest givers. Sorry for the confusion!

Is it supposed to be the case that not all quests give out the tokens? I've gotten some for quests like Maleria, the Wizard, and Toy quests, but I haven't gotten any from Pete, Computer quests, or Battle quests.

They're coming from any of the "newer" quests, which does't include pete or the computer quests (yet!). BQs are usually separate from this kind of thing :).

Since this does not appear to be a bug, I am going to go ahead and lock this thread. :)
