Twice, now, I’ve used the Human Zapper—without a skin on my HA before I click—and it has had no effect.

First time, it was a regular Human Zapper, so I thought it was weird, but assumed that it was a rare and unfortunate possible result.

The second time, just a couple minutes ago, I used the 1mil sP bribe, and still got nothing. I know that I have not unlocked all the possible Human Zapper skins, so this is clearly a bug, and given the cost of the bribed Zap, I am feeling somewhat cheated by this bug. /:

I’d prefer that 1) this bug get fixed, and 2) I get at least one new skin, per the bribe. I understand if the latter is not possible, though I will be a little sad. shrug

welp I just tried to zap myself to see if it would work for me and... it didn't. I had no skin and now i still have no skin. I didn't bribe because I don't have many skins unlocked. But it didn't zap me either

ETA: It just let me zap myself again with no downtime (however i still did not get a skin) But it is taking my wizard tokens :(

Edit: Tried it again without the full downtime, got a skin I already had (at least it worked??), tried it a third time and was told I had the full time to wait. Weird, but makes sense with the “free human zap” bug that’s already known about.

Did you visit the wardrobe after to make sure you didn’t get a skin at all? I ask because there is a visual glitch where your HA will not update to show the new skin after a zap, but when you visit the wardrobe, the skin will be unlocked.

I just tried it right now and it showed no skin on the zapper page, but when I visited the wardrobe it showed it gave me the dog skin.

I did not check to see if it unlocked a new skin, though I did check the wardrobe to see whether the “lack of skin” was limited to the Zapper, or if the effect also didn’t seem to apply to my HA in the wardrobe. I’ll check it now.

Edit: I don’t think I got a new one, but I can’t clearly remember receiving one or two of the skins I didn’t remember having, so it’s possible that I did. Thank you for figuring that out; assuming I did receive a new skin, the bug is limited to the skin simply not appearing on the HA. Good to know, useful info!

The new skins in particular are having trouble showing up at all. When I used the bribe option for them, I had to check the skins page to make sure they were unlocking because nothing was showing on my HA.

Well, the two new skins I got did show up for me, so I haven’t had that problem, myself, but I’ll keep it in mind. Thanks!

No problem! I would just keep checking skins page after each zap to see if you’re unlocking a skin or not because it’s the only way to know for certain :P

I realized i got 2 new i didn't know about! I didn't realize we could sort using filters haha. one was a 2025.

Nice! Yeah, the unearned filter is so helpful considering how many different skins are on the site now :P

Definitely a caching issue between the zapper and the wardrobe. On multiple occasions I've used the human zapper, clicked the link on the success page, and had my old skin still on in the wardrobe... but a new skin had been removed from my "unearned" filter. It took at least 30+ minutes to update the skin on my avatar.

It's much easier to track if you're using the bribe, since every use should unlock a new skin. On the regular (unbribed) human zapper you might just have to wait - if nothing unlocked, it might simply mean the buffer is waiting to change you to a previously unlocked skin.

I tried checking my profile, the sidebar, my avatar/base/UN.png - I can't actually find anywhere that updates immediately. Just gotta wait for that cache to clear.

Would cacheing also be why I am not wearing the skin I was zapped with but another one I didn't even have on?

• checking the wardrobe after a new zap.
• seeing a new skin I earned last zap but wasn't on when I checked before.
• changing my skin back to what I wanted.
• when the wardrobe loads, now I am wearing the new skin I earned this zap.

Which was extremely disorienting before I figured out how it had happened.

If you need someone to check your account log to see what the Zapper's been doing to you and make sure it's unlocking, you could file a ticket! They can dig into the backend for us and figure out exactly what the server thinks is happening XD

I've only been using the guaranteed zapper since there are so few I don't have so I know every skin I get but for some reason the Bloodred skin keeps showing up even when I already have it. Even half an hour to an hour later it hasn't switched to the Graveyard skin that unlocked in my wardrobe today. Thank you for the response though I might submit a ticket later. Since it isn't preventing new skins from unlocking I haven't been in a hurry.
