is this data stored anywhere? i was just thinking i'd love if we could see, say in the item directory, the date (or at least year) that an item was originally added to the site. right now the best option is to, like, cross-reference the item ID with a nearby item ID for an item with a known release date (like a monthly collection or somesuch). this is obviously very impractical lol.

the main reason i was thinking about it is because i've been having fun trying to create "authentic" HAs with older items—but given i've been on this site for nearly 17 years, my own standards of which items feel "old" and which ones feel "modern" have gotten so blurry, it'd be nice to have some hard data with which to make my judgements.

Item directory in Centropolis kind of does this. You can have it sorted from oldest to newest or vice versa. I don't think there's a way to search by exact date and that sounds nearly impossible at this point.

For wardrobe items, you can set it to sort by date added to site, and all the oldest items will be on the last pages.

I don't think there's any way to get an actual date of release though, short of cross-referencing the id like you mentioned.

that's the method i already use, but like i said my sense of "old" is blurry so i end up seeing items that feel modern to me because i remember when they seemed shiny & new, mixed in amongst items that feel quite old to me. so then i get curious, well what year did this actually come out? if i used it on an HA would it be era-appropriate to, say, 2010? 2011?

granted i did find subetalodge has an archive of wearable releases, so i could get some cutoff information on a layer-by-layer basis—but since that archive is divided by month it would still be a matter of manually cross-referencing individual items and individual pages one at a time which is obviously less than ideal lol.

anyhow it's not a huge deal but if it's possible i think it would be nice to make that info readily visible somewhere.
