I'm just trying to accept dance requests. I have to duel Boudewijn every time?? I keep failing. There's a 15min. penalty for accepting dances if I fail? I'm good at failing. :/ I can't keep doing this... So frustrating. Is this a glitch? Is this a real expectation? Anyone know?

Yeah, this is a big problem for me too right now. I keep getting challenged and I keep losing. Frustrating.

When I first saw this, I thought it was kinda cool. Like, maybe there should be some minor penalty for losing since if you win, the prize is pretty good. But this is way too much, it's just making it impossible to get through my dances.

Went back to regular, lovely ol' Subeta.net and didn't have an issue... is it a Kumos thing, maybe?

It's definitely a Kumos thing, but the invitations I get from the dance groups take me to Kumos to dance and I don't think there's any way around that.

I finally got to accept another dance again and I tried clicking the button that just says "accept dance" instead of "accept dance and go to dancefloor" or whatever, thinking maybe that would avoid Boudewijn since on old Subeta you have to visit the dancefloor to find him. Nope, still got challenged, lost again. Ugh! :(

Edit: And another attempt. Tried to accept both dances in queue at once. Challenged. Lost. Is it even possible to beat him right now?

whats even stranger is when you do win, he doesnt grant you anything on kumos. so you either get the duel shame 15 minutes or nothing.

our trinkets didnt go up (unless they are auto put into currencies?) and there was no bag drop like how it is on legacy subeta.

I think Keith was still working on getting the new Masquerade duels up and running on Kumos so they're probably not finished yet.

I think some progress has been made. I just used the button to accept 5 dances in queue. It returned me to the main(?) page without running into Boudewijn. I then used the links to view my last five dances in the ballroom; three of them were normal and two of them had challenges. One challenge Error 404'd and the other one went to the duel page (guessing you can only have one duel active so one got canceled out). I actually won, so that was nice. But as another commenter noted, I'm not sure I got a reward for it. No bags of trinkets in my inventory.

Edit: Accepted a few more dances with the button to accept all at once. That time he challenged me on the resulting page without having to visit the dancefloor. Won the duel but definitely didn't get any reward, I cleared out my inventory before finishing the duel and it's still empty. I guess stuff is just going to be changing around as Keith works on it, that's fine. Mainly just confirming there was no reward.

Is anyone getting the Dance Mat (Lose to Boudewijn in a duel. Then remember there is not a lot of money in revenge) achievement when they lose?

just checked and got the achievement. is it a new one? didn't get any notification if it is indeed a new one, but having issues with the kumos side bar, so it may have been missed if so.

I'm not sure I just checked to see if I needed any from the event and saw I don't have it. I've only won once and I've been losing dual after dual lol

it's not a new achievement this year, I think it is a couple years old since that's around the time he started trying to steal dance partners away.

agreeing that the 15 minute duel shame seems a little harsh for an RNG game. if there was strategy we could see something to do with it (unless there is, we can be rather dense), but again 15 minutes is rather steep. we've since started just using 's method of accepting invitations, both to take a breather from the kumos lag and from the relentless duel onslaught haha, especially since there is no reward, just the risk of time loss. very thankful there is still a way to accept dances.

I think the problem is that the text is backwards from normal in the pop up. It's very hard to figure out what's going on

I'm stuck as well. I was accepting dances, and suddenly ended up with a new page where you could accept 10 dances. I choses that, got challenged and lost, and now I'm stuck on the Boudewijn timer where I can't accept a single dance anymore?

One thing is for sure and that is that this guy on kumos HATES dancing. I think he rivals the parents from footloose on his sheer hatred for dancing.
