I'm new. How do I keep my pets happy on a low budget? Does anyone have a list of cheap stuff, or something?

Give them a minion. There's plenty cheap ones.

You can put your pets in a hotel, and they'll be happy and fed all the time lol.

Hotel options:

Lakeview Resort It costs 200 sP/day for each pet, and you choose up to 20 days, so max cost is 4k. Since you have a gold account, you have the option to check all your pets in at once. It's 250 sP instead of 200, but still affordable.

Ratskeller Inn* This is what I use since the pet can stay there for up to 30 days. It's the same price (200 sP/day per pet) and costs 6k for the max amount. The only downside is you have to manually check in every pet, but I like the extra days and luckily don't have a gazillion pets so it's fine.

*You might have to unlock Omen Islands on the map first in order to access the location, so you'll have to get all nine pieces of the uncharted land map (e.g., ) and put them all together. They're all pretty cheap though.

You can go to the toy shop and buy some toys. If you click on toy item that is in your inventory you will see a "Play with pet" option. If you clock that the item will be given to your pet and make them happy. Just like with feeding.

giving your pet a minion will keep their happiness at 10/10 forever (unless you take the minion away). however, you may want to keep one pet "unhappy" if you ever want to do major drills' quests, as one of the tasks he can ask you to do is play with a toy with one of your pets, which can only be done if their happiness is less than 10/10.

additionally, there are no negative repercussions for having a pet with low happiness, though pets with low hunger are not able to battle. so you don't strictly "have" to keep their meters up, but as mentioned, there are ways to do so that don't require you to use items on them over and over again.
