wondering if anyone wants to help me out with this... i keep flipping back and forth between these shoe options and just can't figure out which one i actually like better. sometimes i'm sure i've made up my mind and then my opinion goes and changes again >_<

pros & cons of the brown shoes:

• pick up on the brown and gold tones in the headpiece, hair, and waistcoat (which are otherwise confined to the top of the outfit)
• look sensible and down-to-earth, fitting with the "country" vibe
• the darker color adds visual weight to the bottom of the HA (i have a thing about HAs feeling "top heavy" or unbalanced)

pros of the periwinkle shoes:

• pick up on the purpley-blue tones in the headpiece, blouse, and tail (which are otherwise confined to the top of the outfit)
• the lighter color creates a different sort of balance as it contrasts with the richness of the waistcoat & skirt

so its almost like they both offer their own incomplete sense of balance/completion, making it hard for me to commit to feeling like either one is quite right. or maybe there's another pair of shoes entirely you think would work better or provide the best of both worlds? and if there's anything else about the outfit you think could be improved, any input/feedback is appreciated...

I vote for the brown! It would be nice if you could somehow find periwinkle socks, but I think the brown ties the whole HA together better, and fits the theme more.

Then again, my HA's own shoes don't fit the theme; I just liked the colour and only wear high tops myself, so I did the opposite of my advice. x)

@ Skolletta i've actually tried with socks/tights but i keep feeling like it doesn't look quite right. although now that i look at it again... maybe?

Mmm, I see what you mean. Maybe if you lightened them a bit? or seem to help, to my eye anyway. It's a shame there's nothing that just peeks out a little!

you know it's funny, i had tried lighter options before and felt like they clashed too much being right up against the yellow skirt—but going lighter AND less saturated actually seems to make it work a lot better... damn you've cracked the code, i think that's gonna be what ends up tying it all together lol. tysm for the help!
