the shoutbox is a legendary subeta institutionāitās been part of the site since practically day one. we shut it down a few years ago bc the legacy codebase was, frankly, a trash fire, and running live chat on it wasā¦ letās just say āa challenge.ā but guess what? ITāS BACK. better than ever, powered by our shiny new live thread functionality.
letās take a little stroll down memory lane. did you know one of the first customizations on subeta was shoutbox backgrounds? back in the day, if you wanted one, you didnāt buy it or unlock it. no, you had to be friends with me to get one. š

the shoutbox was more than just a chat; it was a cultural moment. drama started there, ended there, and sometimes just looped infinitely. this was back when everyone was online all the time, so no tiny slight went unexamined. if someone so much as typoed, the shoutbox would light up. iconic.
sadly, i donāt have exact records of when the shoutbox first launched. our archives only go back to 2010 bc of a massive code meltdown that basically wiped everything before that.
(this is the āfirstā commit for subetaāanything earlier is lost to time and bad coding practices. rip.)
but even in 2014, the shoutbox was still evolving:

now, hereās the plan: iām testing live threads as the new shoutbox format. why? bc itās so much betterāactual forum posts with history, easy moderation, and you can view it outside the tiny sidebar. plus, in a few days hopefully, iāll add a widget for a more familiar vibe. welcome to shoutbox 2.0. š

I seem to have a glitch in my personal shops. Can't see the sidebar widgets in them. They are just gone. There is white space where they should be though. This is on legacy.
I haven't autopriced, quest or RS'ed my shops all week xD
I've been so busy this week and barely have time to play
True, the shops seem incredible low on stock these days. I do love being able to get CSC with doing the Kumos quests even if you have to quit a lot of them.
At least the Kumos quests always give some free CSC, even if I quit half of them :D I think it's not necessarily people hoarding, these items are just restocking not as often as previously, so there's simply not enough to go around.
I agree! The Kumos quest items need to be changed up since they ask for the same items over and over people hoard them and jack up the prices. You can't even do most of them any more!

Possums are my problem.
we live on the 4th floor of an apartment building, so squirrels arent really an issue.
we get some mice in the planters/cleaning up scattered seeds at night though!
I have a bird feeder but it seems to also function as a squirrel feeder >.>
i swear everyone around here must have a bird feeder, I've never seen such fat birds in my life LOL

Doodles & i cleaned up our porch last night! had a lot of patio pots in need of attention, debris to clean up, reorganizing, & setting up a new bird feeder & water dishes~

- Sorry for the wait! There are items that cost more (Delish Tender items) or costs less (Abandoned Magazine items) than they do in the regular Cash Shop. These are the two I checked.
