I’m always grinding new books on my journey to have a pet with every book read, and the process of confirming if they’ve read a book is getting so tedious. It took like an hour just double check all the black Friday books and get them and read them. Is there any way to have a small “yes” or “no” type marker on book items that signal if your active pet has read them? AND that they’re books? Some books don’t like books at all so you’re then going into the unread list and confirming it’s actually a book in the first place in addition to double checking your read list. This kind of thing would make going through quest shops and point stores and CSC sales for new books so much more pleasant and seamless.

A few things you can do right now to make the process go smoother:

• Create an account on SubetaLodge. They have a tool where you can make a checklist to keep track of different things like a pet’s books read, foods fed, etc. You can also make them per pet if you have multiple you want to read to. Then you can filter books by the ones you still need and which shop they’re in like the Cash Shop.

• If you need to know if an item is a book or not, using the Item Directory is quicker. Just search the name of the item and when you pull its information up, look for Book under “Item Uses”. If it’s not there, it’s not designated as a book. You can also do the same thing with an item search on SubetaLodge.

I add everything from the unread books page to my wishlist then rely on the wishlist border around the books I need.

seconding what Kevin said! its a bit tedious to do but once its done its done! and youll know pretty instantly what books you need anywhere on site, save for brand new things as they wont be on your wishlist yet x) i did this a couple months ago and it made my life so much easier on here lol (did it with my plushie collection too!)

Account searching the item will also tell you if any of your pets have read it!

I prefer SubetaLodge for tracking this because I have so many battle pets to read to and they all have different books needed. Also because you can sort by lowest price or location to buy the book directly.

If you are only reading to one pet you can use this: https://subeta.net/pet/books.php?petid=346124&act=unread . Get there through the pet page then just wishlist every book your pet hasn't read yet. Go to your wishlist and sort by price.

Others have already mentioned these, but I will echo some that i think are the easiest.

when i first started getting books, i used subetalodge to wishlist them all. took 4839248329 years. it's still one of the best options though, and if you're reading to more than one pet...that's probably the only feasible option since it's hard to keep track through wishlist when you need multiple copies. subetalodge is also definitely great for trying to snag all the holiday/event/special store books because you can sort the results by what store they come from.

personally, what i find easiest now is going to the pets page, clicking the dropdown arrow for what pet i am reading to, and clicking "Books Read". I've bookmarked the Books Read page for my pet. On that page, you can click on "Click here to see what's missing!" and just wishlist them all there. It's still tedious, but it's faster than using subetalodge. if i have a subeta hiatus, i'll usually check here to wishlist any books i missed.

if i'm ever not sure if a book has been read to my pet, i hover over it & click "Account Search" at the bottom of the box. It will tell you on that page if that book has been read to any of your pets. it's great bc i sometimes forget to wishlist new books when they come out & i'll often catch them this way

when i buy books, i sort the wishlist by user price. i will say pay attention to the rarities as things get more expensive -- holiday books are almost always cheaper if you buy them using the holiday currency. i highly recommend implementing custom CSS year indicator for event shops. that way when you shop search a holiday book, it will tell you what year the item is from (saves a lot of time).

also best of luck!!! welcome to subeta book club lol 🤓
