At least there is Roisin, a fellow vampire, who is able the guide her on the ways of being a vampire. Poppy finds herself falling deeply in love with the older woman. But Roisin's past and regrets soon have them parting ways. But no matter what paths Poppy ends up going down, she is always thinking of Roisin.
