Well I mean, I could if it were finished, which it's not. But this is the happiest I've ever been on this site. I decided to use my subeta account to showcase my brother and I's favorite OCs (original characters). And honestly it was the best decision ever for me. I'm now really attached to each pet like I am my OCs. I have autism so like making OCs and roleplaying them with my bro is my special interest, same with my brother. Yeah I know I'm kinda weird, being passionate about something no one else even knows exists and only exists in our deranged hearts and minds, but lol. I don't care I'm super happy with how its coming together so far. While I do have A LOT of work to do to finish up this account I will enjoy every minute of it. I'm happy to be super into this site again! And yeah, since all but 1 of my pets are directly linked to our OCs I won't win no pet spotlight or anything. (The OCs don't live in the subeta universe), but that's okay. It was never my goal to get into the pet spotlight anyway. Anyway just thought I'd share how I'm feeling.

What are your goals and dreams for your account? And how happy does subeta make you? I want to hear all about the positive things you guys have to say about this place. I like learning about what others do with their pets and accounts so feel free to share here.

It's always so wonderful to feel inspired and passionate about the site! My own motivation comes and goes for sure, so I relate to the excitement and joy of feeling the creativity flowing and the connection! I'm glad you found a way to "boost" your enjoyment of the site, and it's nice that it can also be something that connects you and your brother. Pets don't have to be from Subeta to win the spotlight! So you could still win with OCs as long as you complete the requirements.

I've been in a creative lull, but still love the site deeply and am so thankful for it! Slowly (okay, very slowly lol) I'm working on completing all of my pets and getting them all to the highest job level for either gentech or a themed job. ATM I have some "mostly done" pets I'd like to finish, and then I think I need to challenge myself to write the stories for all my nature pets. o.o' Other than pets, I'm saving up for some Lumi gifts for friends and for the BF sale!

I'm so glad to hear that you're happy with your account and your pets! I can relate to your excitement, because this is the first year in 17 that I've put any effort into my pets. I can't believe I was missing out on the fun! What makes me super happy is my gallery. I absolutely love science, and this gallery is the epitome of that. it only makes me sad because im running outta room. i reluctantly split the gallery into two, and now im close to 20,000 items and i don't want to split it up anymore..

I've been reading up on how to code, so I'm exploring a new avenue with pets and coding. I also got a drawing tablet for about $20, and I've been having fun drawing up some stuff too. after my spinal surgery last year, ive been super active here because well, most of the time i can only lay in bed but this has been a fun thing to play with to ease the pain of that.

you can still do pet spotlight! just make sure you credit your brother

Aww thanks. I'm glad you also enjoy using subeta as a creative outlet. I think you should challenge yourself to write more too! Honestly I've been making characters for pets starting with neopets when I first joined in 2005, wow that was so long ago. Also good luck with your lumi gifts!

Awesome! Glad you are discovering what its like to really put effort into your pets, it's a great feeling! I'm still pretty new to coding but I'm also learning it at my own pace. Nice to hear I can still win pet spotlight, I give credit to my brother if I represent his OCs on my pets lookups already too. It's not my goal to make it to pet spotlight or anything but would be cool I guess.

Ohhh, as a fellow science-lover your gallery is so, so impressive and fun to look through. I love how you have things categorized! I started learning code last year for pet profiles and it has been so much fun to develop a new skill, especially one that continues to challenge me and make me get creative or hunt for answers! Have you seen the CSS compendium yet? It's super helpful! Please check out Not-So-Weekly Pet Prompts and the Pet Spotlight Support boards in the pets fourm! I hope you recover smoothly and comfortably! I had spine surgery just over two years ago (double disc removal and fusion).

Oh man, I started on Neo too but didn't do much character development on the site. I did some here and there when I was younger but I think it's super cool that you've been developing characters and even carrying some through for so long! It's new for me and I'm really enjoying each new "level" or approach.

Some of my OCs have existed for 20 years now lol. And I probably have 1000 of them or more.

WOW! That's super impressive. Please totally check out Not-So-Weekly Pet Prompts and the Spotlight Support boards! I bet you'd have a lot to contribute to the chat with 1000 OCs lol

Lol maybe. But my OCs aren't very famous online and I don't like oversharing about them with strangers. I don't mind if people know about them but at a certain point I don't want my OCs to become like super famous for some reason, I dunno.

Yes of course. Also I don't want to ever make money off my OCs. Once you start doing that, you can start to view it as just a job, you can even begin to hate it.

yay fellow science lover! thankyou so much you made me smile! glad you like going through my gallery lol i literally look through it all the time moving things around or taking things out that to make more room for better items since im so close to the item limit i gotta be careful what i throw in there now and truthfully thats where im trying to learn reading on about coding with the helpful links to coding sites and the whole thread in general. LOL and i did see that pet board, which i do enjoy reading them lurking lol i have osteomyelitis, and it's basically an infection that was in my spine so i lost two discs and fractured my vertebrae where they give the epidural at.. and now i got of screws and rods in there. the infection wont ever disappear which is terrifying. and omg a fusion! so you cant bend your back either lol? what was the purpose of the fusion if you dont mind me asking. was it a degenerative disease or herniated discs? hows your recovery going?

im gonna send you a FR if you dont mind ❤

I don't mind at all! Please do c:

Oh yay, I've found the CSS Compendium and googling specific things super helpful! I'm happy to answer questions if you'd like, I've been learning a lot and having fun with pet profiles for a few months now. The Spotlight Support Group is also a good place to ask for help!

I'm so sorry that you have to live with osteomyelitis. I had never heard of it before, it sounds daunting and scary. I pray it is essentially isolated / dormant and leaves you in peace! I had three herniated discs - two of which were severely herniated. When they looked at my MRI they called me and were like "can you feel your leg?" (which at that point yes until I was standing / walking for more than 5min then it began to go numb) and then "you need surgery tomorrow". o.o The disc was compressing my spinal cord 95% of the way. They removed the two really badly herniated discs and left the highest one (which was only a little herniated) then fused L4-S1. No accident, just likely genetics (my dad also has some spine stuff) and too much wear and tear. I've worked physical jobs for like a decade - server, kennel tech and trainer at a dog rescue, zoo keeper, Humane Society, dog trainer - and there are just some things that you can't do ergonomically. Pretty sure I just had minor injuries over and over, and it finally was like "I give up" lol. Recovery wasn't that bad! A month of essentially bed rest (laying, not sitting) punctuated with 5 - 10 minute walking. Began working up duration of walking pretty rapidly, then after a month I think began in-home PT. After three months I was allowed to bend and turn finally (but carefully). I didn't commit to the PT like I should have long term, so I have some catchup left to do as far as rebuilding muscle and protecting my spine from further damage. But overall recovery for me was thankfully smooth. Still have pain here and there, more-so weakness, and have to be careful with some things since there's more strain now on the other discs.
