I've never really engaged with my plushie collection much and I was thinking of starting to collect plushies on a certain theme, but unfortunately it looks like years ago I threw 3 in there so that idea immediately doesn't work. I would love a cleansing pool option to get rid of them.
I know a lot of people go for completion with collections, but that isn't everyone, and I think this could enable other ways to engage with it a little. Not with the intention of clearing and redoing it all the time, but just as a way to escape some maybe flippant past decisions a little. I'd be fine with it being time limited and/or expensive.
I know we can't cleanse things like books pets have read, as that would be kind of a loophole to increase intelligence. The ability to scrape stickers gives me hope - I know that's likely because others can stick us with them, but still. I can't think of a way for a plushie or other collection option to be abused. Thoughts?

I like this idea, and I can't think of any ways to really abuse this feature if it were implemented. like, the only thing I can think of that the plushie collection really affects other than the plushie collection is like... some achievements? but there's achievements you can get by having certain items in your wardrobe, and you can remove those items, so that wouldn't be a reason.
Why, though? If it's not for you just ignore it. You don't have to look at your collections.

I guess as long as the plushie isn't returned, sure. Though most people do that in a pet's treasure to theme out certain collections. But either way a person should be able to do it.
Though that also would be tied to high score counter as plushie collections are ranked.
Uh, why though.

Why, though? If it&;s not for you just ignore it. You don&;t have to look at your collections.
Why not use a Gallery (shop) for that mini collection? Like you said, it's very niche. If you get bored you can easily sell them off that way.
I mean, why not? Pay a certain amount of SP to have it wiped clean, which would destroy the plushies,
Oh I love using treasures too. Good point about the high scores - cleansing a plushie would need to subtract 1 from the score counter too.
I do still like the added permanency of the collection. The plan I was thinking about was collecting plushies of all the pet colour/species I've had, including current ones, as a way to kind of still commemorate them all on my account as I morph some of them. That could be a gallery, but I just thought it'd be cool if it were more "part of" my account as a collection and was disappointed to realize that chucking 3 random plushies in there however long ago prevents me from doing that accurately.
And yeah that exact idea is very specific, but it made me realize this would be a way to open up more potential modes of engagement without any real downside. Especially since subeta accounts are one per person, for life, the chance to "start fresh" in some areas (for an sP sink) would be nice, whether it ended up being widely used or not.

I have a bunch of plushies (69 nice) and beanbags in my collection, and if I could just wipe the slate clean, that would be nice. I have no interest in completing either collection, so if that feature existed, I'd use it.
None of the plushies I got in my collection are expensive so I don't mind seeing them gone. Bu-bye!
Most of these plushies/beanbags, I put there when I first joined the site. Or in my early years. Like, it's been 18 years, let me undo that.
Exactly! New plans aside, it bugs me that I have just those 3 plushies in there. I'm never going to be someone driven to complete the whole collection, so I'd rather it either be cute and intentional, or just blank. And yeah I have no idea who I was or what I thought I was planning when I put them in at this point lol, it's been 10+ years easy. I'm very willing to eat the cost of past carelessness if that option becomes available.

I don't exactly understand the sentiment but I guess as long as the plushies are gone for good and it's hard to do by accident, then it wouldn't hurt to have around.
I would like this idea. I would love to be able to reset the foods eaten as well. I'd gladly pay some sP to reset. I want to theme some pets, but they were adopted and have gross foods eaten. I don't mess with the gross foods, so those pets' foods eaten are useless to me.
I totally get wanting to curate your own account, so I would love to see some resetting available.
we actually can clean the foods eaten I believe I'm gonna go find the link
Edit I can't find it but I swear there was that feature at one point
if its what I think you mean, its just to reset the pets hunger once a day not to get rid of anything eaten(unless Im missing one somewhere)
Hmm tbh as long as the collection item isn't returned I don't see why plushies, beanbags, and food a pet hasn't eaten couldn't be cleansed. If an achievement is already earned then whatever happens with the item count wouldn't allow it to be earned a second time so there's really no harm in it sans the potential for buyers remorse (or cleansers remorse, I suppose).
As long as books read isn't included, as that's the only option that could be exploited for intel, I don't see any harm. In fact there's more than a few of my pets that came with random foods that I would love to remove.
Alternatively I wouldn't be opposed to a concept of having something like "Username's Personal Collection(s)". I know there's galleries and TCs, but I'd love a secret third option?
TCs are great (being real they're my favorite thing about subeta) but 1. unless you're like me and force the item names to show it's a real pain to find out if you already have an item or not because you can't just F3 search since it's just images and 2. the bigger the TC the more of a struggle it is to manage.
Galleries are great too because categories are almost like tagging and it's easy to sort items but I can't add emojis to category names (yes I am like that) and I can't organize things like I can with TCs (or the sticker album).
A secret third option where I can buy a new personal collection (sP sink) and add items to organize how I want them (could be a new use for the MKBs? Use on pet, use on x collection? another sP sink) and if I lose interest I can remove everything and put something else in it. I would be Very Silly about this.
This sounds maybe more like some ideas for a gallery revamp? I see your points about functionality, but I'm not really getting the conceptual difference between this and a gallery.
I think the big thing that separates collections is that you can't get the items back out. I don't really think a whole new place to put stuff is the solution here, just looking for a way to clear past "scars" while retaining the permanency of "once it's in, that item can never go anywhere else."

I always thought collectionable items (plushies, stickers, beanbags) work as reedemable items.
I would guess once redeemed, the item ID is tied to your account, it will count in your collection, and it will be gone. maybe that's why you can't take the item out
there are many prize tables and achievements based on collections, this makes me wonder the impact and effort involved in implementing a change like this. and if it is worth it since other users already pointed out there are other site features you can achieve similar or even better results
That's fair. As this conversation has gone on I'm realizing it's more about the ability to "wipe the slate clean" like was saying, and the possible cute non-traditional uses I'm thinking of just happen to follow that.
Regardless of whether I end up making a small plushie collection somewhere else, it bugs me that I have this "Plushies: 3" on my profile leading to nothing significant, and that the only way out is to go for that giant, expensive collection I don't really care about. I wouldn't mind that leading to a sneaky little themed collection, and I wouldn't mind it being a 0 for "doesn't engage with this feature," but as is it just feels messy. Which yeah is my own fault, but it was ~18yo me and I don't want her in charge anymore lol
If it isn't practical/possible I'll have to live with it, but it felt worth checking!
