I miss the shoutbox. It's incredibly brittle, and one of the first pieces of code we had that was "live" and updated, by grabbing HTML generated directly by the server. The good old days!
So, what I'm working on is a more general type of shoutbox. This will be powered by the forums (each of these are posts!) that we can 'convert' to a regular forum topic at some point. That meas they're all searchable, and no more vanishing into the night.
Right now creating a "live thread" is something only an admin can do, but we'll see how this goes and if it's interesting to allow y'all to toggle your threads between the two types.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet since I haven't scrolled through the entire live thread, but while scrolling the live threads, avatar borders seem to layer on top of the header at the top of the site.
Nah just something I thought I'd be able to avoid this year :P

I was watching a thing on mazes on Sunday. It was mainly about the guy that creates most in the world. He even has one in his backyard. One maze they were at a person was lost for 3 hours. She was like "all part of the experience"

I actually do not like smores, though other people might make them. I just like the roasted marshmallows. Weird, I know.
oh no! I'm not so keen on the maze part, but I love me some roasted marshmallows, and the company will be good, so I don't mind wandering the corn for a while. We usually only go in the baby and medium mazes.

i cannot do a corn maze again this year, went with friends last year to the "biggest corn maze in california" and literally got lost for four hours 😭

Yeah, those are both "livewire" components (one of the new technologies we're using on kumos) and might have issues if they're inserted. I notice if you refresh, all of them have the react and when someone sends a message they all go away (except the top one)
