I really hate that you miss one day and it resets your days. I had almost 2 years done, and my daughter got married yesterday, and while away my phone didn't have my new password so I missed one 24hr period and it's yet again reset. One other time 3yrs ago I was in a coma in hospital for a week. One time we had an electrical blackout for 30hrs and phone was out of battery. I just think it sucks when all the work to stay constant daily is just taken away when life happens, especially when better prizes are for the longer you've logged in to claim the bathhouse pools. Other sites just count the days you've logged in and claimed.
btw wedding was amazing, this is just a pet peeve over the years.
yeah i had a three year streak and then i went on holiday 😭 im not too upset about it anymore but it does suck that you start from 0...at least you dont "build up" long term in prizes outside of the 30 day period
congrats on her wedding!
it doesn't really matter though... it goes in 30 day cycles so it's not like you're benefitting from having a longer streak, apart from the 300-day achievement. and it's not like you're building up to some massive game-changing reward that you'll be kicking yourself for missing out on; other sites will lock super valuable stuff behind multi-month login streaks and if you happen to mess it up on the last day, you have to start over from 0. i actually quit an entire site because of that.
I'd love to see this changed to where you don't lose your daily number. I think it could be a good way for users to see how long they've been actively playing the site for.
I keep seeing the same counter argument of 'it doesn't matter' (not trying to call out specifically, any time a thread like this pops up this argument is made!) but that's not really true IMHO.
From a game standpoint, sure. It doesn't really matter. None of the rewards are so crazy / take that long to get. It's a very minuscule loss. But from a psychological standpoint, it does. I see tons of users who feel incredibly poorly about losing their streak and seeing that number reset. So if from a GAME standpoint it doesn't matter, then why not change this so that people don't have that psychological impact every time it resets? Even though you're not really missing out on anything, it is still a huge 'feel bad' when it resets for some people. Shouldn't the point of a daily reward be to encourage users to be here, and to make them feel good for any time they do spend here?
And of course, the second counter argument is usually 'well what about the people who ACTUALLY have kept their streak going this whole time, how is that fair to them? Well, first of all... they'd keep their streak and it would be higher than anyone who's had a resent reset. But secondly, if it doesn't matter anyways and no one but you can see your streak, then what are you losing if other people around you just don't have a 'feel bad' by losing their own streak, regardless of how they lost it?
((I personally don't care what the number is at any more, but I just see so many people posting and feeling discouraged constantly about it that I think it's worth considering a change. In the past it used to bother me a whole lot when I'd lose my streak every time I physically couldn't get out of bed to 'check a computer' because I was prioritizing my well being over the internet. I think I'm just numb to caring about my own streak anymore. Which in itself doesn't reflect well on the system tbh))
Might it be useful to have two counters? The main one that counts consecutive visits, and another that tallies the total of all the days you've ever visited the bath house.
It does suck to lose your consecutive days counter. I remember back in 2020 when I was maybe a day or two away from reaching a consecutive year only to be hit by Covid. Needless to say, I couldn't remember if I did log in and, to my dismay, saw that my counter was back at 0. I was so upset that day. From that point on, I never hit a full year ever :(
Edit: I now have the bathhouse pools as my bookmark, so at least I know that I visited them when I log in.
