You're welcome to guestimate I know I don't have exact numbers myself. Could be collectively in a series or just one single game. This question feels like " Hey are you addicted to games? Just HOW addicted are you though?" lol. Tbf mine is bad I have well over several thousand hours in animal crossing as a series. I know I have more than 1000 in new leaf AND new horizons. I cant imagine also including city folk, wild world and the gamecube one (population growing). I probably have ridiculous collective hours in my harvest moon games too but animal crossing is my one and only if I had to pick one series for the rest of my life.

Ah nice to not feel like I'm a crazy person with the wild AF gaming hours! I think I also have absurd hours in stardew valley because I was OBSESSED when I found it. That and Skyrim too and recently found that the save data was indeed backed up and I can play my crazy khajit antihero again on my SO's steam deck (laptop is now a potato being 10+ years old and from late high school).

I think my top played game is definitely Guild Wars 2. Luckily they've got an /age counter so I can see exactly how much time I've spent... "Across all characters, you have played 7,194 hours 12 minutes over the past 4,311 days." ...which averages to about a little over an hour and a half a day for nearly 11 years. Uhm. Yep. Definitely still a casual player I think. Lmao.
I still feel like consistent casual play isn't as common in some people. at least not seeing some of the people I'm still friended on switch that I knew in highschool. Sometimes it seems like they play a half hour every few days or week looking at their time totals on the switch. When you see someone with like 100 total hours or less in ACNH since launch and look at your own 1.5k you start to question your gaming habits a little lol. But its my main hobby anyway. I still manage to crochet, make art and read just less often than the gaming haha.

I had to look on the Playstation app.
Which according to that: I have 3232 hours in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

I have 800 hours counted on Dead By Daylight. But the game I most played is Minecraft, I can't even imagine for how many hours.
I mostly joke about myself being a casual player because I still feel like a casual player, despite the high numbers. Gaming is probably my primary hobby as well. I'd love to say it's art, but right now I'm in a weird phase in life where I just don't have the energy for art as much as I'd like, and gaming matches my current pace better. Lol. TBH as long as you're happy and still living life beyond the game, then I don't actually see a problem with having high hours in a game. I think about the generation my parent's come from and how they frown on 'wasting time on games' but all of them spent every evening watching TV... so how is that any different x'D
OMG I know right? What even is a hobby other than something you "waste" your time on that just makes you happy? I guess Bird watching and catch and release fishing are also wastes of time? There's lots of "unproductive" things that aren't considered a waste of time it just seems like the nerdy indoor things get such a bad rep. Or just generally introverted activities because none of the extroverts understand why we would wanna do those things. Sorry I personally don't get why anyone would go to a loud party where they don't know a single person 😖 but that's just me.

I think that people who consider certain hobbies a 'waste of time' are people who just cannot put themselves in another person's shoes. Something along the lines of "I can't imagine myself spending time, energy, or money on this... therefore it's a waste." Like you, I also don't really enjoy parties, but that didn't stop me from taking a moment to think why other might? And so I don't consider it a waste if it's something that person enjoys (just please don't invite me I want to be safe at home thanks lol).
Oh definitely! Unlike me some people get an energy boost and feel good going to social stuff and parties! I wish I was even a person that could feel relaxed in the presence of others. I personally get more of that feel goodness from sitting and building legos or crocheting. Heck I do enjoy quieter social events. If I get too wound up and excited I also feel very sick afterwards so it isn't a thing I actively seek out.

I play a lot of games for around 100 hours or so before getting bored with them (thanks ADHD), but the one franchise that has stuck with me is Pokemon. If I had to count the amount of time I've spent playing across all the games in the series, AND if I include things like ROM hacks and fan games... Thousands. Thousands of hours. I have 1000 hours between Scarlet and Shield alone, and I know my OG FireRed and Diamond files hit 500 hours of playtime before I restarted.
Sometimes I wish it wasn't such a special interest of mine, because I really would like to branch out and play other video games...

I guess you have trouble finding the time? or is it just that it being your special interest makes other stuff that isnt similar nearly as interesting? There are pokemon-like games that have various alterations to mechanics like Palworld (despite all the associated drama about it). Though honestly pokemon is pretty A+ for how many gens there are and lots of varying elements of gameplay to enjoy. Great stories in all of them too! Which gen is your absolute favorite right now? Not even just from a nostalgia standpoint but the story and gameplay elements and even the style and feel of it. My heart is definitely in Sinnoh and Kanto being that yellow and pearl were my first forays into the games but I love the charm of the black and white series as well as sun and moon.

It's as though I can never find the time for other games, but I somehow always have time for Pokemon? Sitting down and starting a new game requires dedication and effort, but Pokemon is a comforting series that I can play at any time, so I guess I just... default to what feels coziest. I'm trying to make my way through a Digimon game right now (Digimon Cyber Sleuth) and it just isn't the same!
Oh, I love Sinnoh so much, and I'm mad that the Sinnoh remakes were as simple as they were (in comparison to remakes of the past, like ORAS). I'm actually a huge fan of Galar and Sword/Shield, despite all the controversy surrounding the quality of those games. Sword/Shield actually have post-game content (albeit locked behind DLC) that allows me to shiny hunt legendaries, and I've already gotten a few that I wanted! 😊

I def enjoyed the newest pokemon games though. At least the glitches were kinda funny until they were all patched. and though I get the gripes with less homes to enter someone had a point that... technically you are trespassing lmao! I keep feeling tempted to Nuzlocke Sw Sh but the power scaling was testing me HARD last time I did that. Need to walk on eggshells 😥 and maybe study the map and general power ranges of each area. and not train near the watchtower ruins... That's what took me out last time. Need to stock pokedolls out the wazoo maybe.

Ohhh, I loved Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life! Well, I played Another Wonderful Life, even though I would've rather played as the male character in A Wonderful Life. 🙄 My wife has been playing the remake and it looks to be faithful to the original, while making a few QOL changes for the better. I've yet to play it myself, however. Now that I've played modded Stardew Valley, it's really hard to motivate myself to try other farming sims.
Ooooo I just finished a nuzlocke of Sword, actually! Definitely stay away from the Watchtower Ruins in the beginning lol, I made that same mistake but thankfully had a Pokedoll on me so I was able to run away. If you allow yourself to do raids, the EXP candy rewards are very useful in keeping your Pokemon leveled appropriately! I only had one "death" until I got to the Champion, who is, actually, harder than I had expected. Lost three Pokemon in that battle, but it didn't matter because I always consider a nuzlocke done after defeating the Champion, so it was okay. xD

Just a little bit over 1000+hours on Green Hell. Next in line 7 Days to Die with half that.
Between my playthroughs of Disgaea, I probably have over 500 hrs in several of the games over the years.
Oh the new farming game is indeed very faithful to the original. It feels like they combined aspects of AWL AnWL and the playstation remake into one as you can play either gender, and also marry lumina. They changed cody a lot but I feel as though they did so to 1. make him more attractive as a bachelor and 2. attempt not to feed into harmful stereotypes. Though tbh his rough intimidating exterior was meant to contrast with how soft and kind and introspective he is as a character. I feel like they took a bit of that away making him a borderline bishounen. the QOL changes are peak though and make the game even more addictive than it was originally imo. cutscenes trigger easier too which i love so much.
BTW any suggestions for a good type balance for the champion? or which starter seems like it might be particularly good? I like to retain my starter through the whole run at minimum.
