My quick suggestion is that maybe one day, our news comments could be editable. I'm so bad with typing fast and then realizing error after the submission which is 100% my fault. But I had an issue this morning with one comment, my spoiler tag didn't work, another comment double posted on accident. It would be nice if we were able to edit and/or delete those mistakes so as not to by mistake clutter up the comments :D

Agreed, I've never gotten why there wasn't an edit feature there unless it was always intended to be a one and done. Which springs to mind the question of why do we have the ping feature in the newsfeed then?

news comments are tricky, since there are users who are banned from the public forums but are still able to communicate via the news comments. we'd be for it if there was a clear edit from - to so that no one can do some untoward things and then quickly edit it out. as we all know, news comments can devolve into drama rather quickly, so its always something to think about.

then again this is just us being overly cautious, and inflammatory comments are usually removed by staff. it would be nice to be able to edit. but a clear indicator that it has been edited or deleted would be a good indicator of a bait comment.

If this is the concern, then an option to show entire past comment iteration would be a viable option, IMO.

But I'm honestly a bit curious about why the forums and newsfeed comments even have different structures in the first place.

Not a criticism, I just see the two combined so often in other sites and games that I'm surprised.
