I wanted to add Left Athletic Prosthetic Leg to my current HA because it fits the character the avatar is based on. The problem I'm having is with layering. You can see the shoes under the prosthetic. Is there an item or trick to layering that would hide the shoes? Open to using different shoes (I've gone through a few and hadn't found any).

Options are limited, but there are a handful of separate left and right shoes you could use, e.g. [item=Single Black Sheeta Sneaka (Right)]

Otherwise you might need just the right Ground item or something that will help to hide the left foot without also affecting the right shoe that you want to be visible. It seems like the prosthetic is drawn to follow the HA's base lines pretty closely which definitely complicates trying to add a shoe to the other side
