Hello!

I'm making this page a two-fold one, I am both looking for legacy names to add to my collection of pets and considering adopting out a couple of legacy name cuties at the same time. I tend to aim for real words for my pets, rather than real names. I have a weird little goal of wanting to adopt pets that start with the letters j, x, and y. Then, I will have every letter of the alphabet represented. If anyone has names fitting these criteria they're planning to adopt out--let me know!

To do this I also need to adopt out a few cuties to create enough space to fit any new pets. These are pets that I have either struggled to concept for my characters or I've just fallen out of love with the name. I'd appreciate anyone applying for them to be putting some work into their pet somehow. As you can probably see I have been slowly working on treasure chests and profiles for mine. I'd like to see a little bit about at you're planning to do with the pet. They won't come with their minions or treasures. I'd also prefer they keep their legacy names, but their colors and species are free to be changed. Write me a blurb of what you're thinking you'll do with the pet.

omg i love winnow's name. given the meaning of the word, i feel like i'd go for a kind of airy go where the wind blows characterization, focusing in on this idea of finding one's way. color/pet combo is still a bit up in the air, maybe something angelic, but i'm also thinking they could be a lovely spectrum serpenth. o: i would def build up a tc and train em up as well!

edit: been kind of massaging ideas and i thought a wind chime motif could be really cool, sort of a la , like finding the melody in the discordant wind :) a nomadic crafter tinkering with the design to form a cohesive song is the kind of angle i'm thinking

I'm having so much fun looking through your pets, I might need to bookmark the battle guides for myself. I'm still pretty new to battling in general. I also love the treasures you've chosen for each one. It's such a lovely mix of pretty items, particularly for your Celestials.

I'm going to leave it open for at least a week or two for more applications, but I'd definitely be interested to see what you come up with.

Well dang, I am still very interested in Welcome even if they don't fit the naming conventions I'm aiming for. (May just mean another pet I'm waffling on may be added to the mix to be adopted) What else would you need from me to add to my application?

I love the idea that you already have fanart prepared for a profile image. I'm not familiar with the character but I do know that urge to have a fave character represented. Your pets have such extensive treasures-- I was really enjoying looking through what each of them have, it definitely gives me some inspiration for some of my own!

I'd like to leave a little time open for other applications before I make my ultimate decision. But Billion is one of my OG babies and I really want him somewhere he is loved.

Freaking out about Winnow and making an application right hecking now that I'll edit into this post :D

Edit I've been looking for the right LN for a story / character I've been wanting to make and Winnow is perfect! Granted the name could fit SO many character ideas lol.

So, there's a conservation project called the Livestock Guarding Dog Program that's headed by the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF). This is what my character / story is based on!

I'd like to write a story about a LGD and a cheetah who become friends! I love the name Winnow (and would name a dog this IRL) and think it would be a good name for the shepherd because of one of the definitions of the word winnow is "verb as in subject to some process of separating or distinguishing". This fits well with a dog who has such an important and honorable job. While the name has a strong meaning, it has a soft sound which also fits perfectly with the dichotomy of the character. She's both strong and distinguished in her courage, but kindhearted and peaceful. The name definitely gives me all these vibes!

My general outline of the story I've had in my head is about Winnow's arrival and learning on the ranch, the meeting with Winnow and the cheetah (who doesn't have a name yet but I have ideas and may make a pair if it works best that way, giving each their own portions of stories and then sharing a joint part), and the development of their friendship (with sprinkles of educational stuff and links on the profile to learn about the conservation program). I actually already have a piece of art for them because I have wanted to make this story for a while now! Pup & Cheetah.

I have "groups" of pets and Winnow would fit right in with my "short story" characters or my "pairs" depending on if I keep the story to one pet or two!

I've been wanting to make a blacklight telenine because I love the art, and that would be a perfect fit for Winnow both in the general look and in the personality / expression of the art. Because I love the look of the BL telenine so much I probably wouldn't do an overlay, instead I would get art of the two characters for the profile. I'm kinda envisioning the pre-made profile layout from Helix that's centered with one of the characters on each side, both sitting and looking towards the other with a big smile.

I have a few other ideas in my head that could work with such a lovely name, but I'm most excited about this idea as I've been wanting to make this character / story for a while!

Edit edit because brain goes vroom I also have this vague second idea for Winnow based on the use of the term in the series by SJ Maas. Her characters "winnow" as in transport themselves and there's a lot that could be shaped into a really cool character from that idea of the term - "winnow between worlds" is a phrase that has been sticky in my mind. I'm very attached to my other story and would love to use Winnow for that one so that's still my plan, but dang if I don't also already have a backup idea to tempt me as well lolol.
