Hello. Just looking for people's opinions on the pet zapper before I possibly use it. Pros? Cons? Thanks!

Depending what your after it can be fun or aggravating. It can NOT do these colors: angelic, hydrus, galactic, steamwork... To get experiments costs another 400k The results can be lame such as an item or minion being zapped to nothing happening. Sometimes you can get a fantastic zapped, but if hoping for a specific pet may be better to save up properly. For example I've been zapping Aetherial for years without much luck on awesome zaps. And the few awesome zaps just don't match the name to me so since idk what I want Aetherial to be I keep zapping. Also iirc there's some achievements with using the zapper.

to clarify, the 400k is just to guarantee an experiment. you can still get them randomly like any other result with just a normal zap. i'm also pretty sure items (and maybe minions?) can no longer be affected by the zapper.

anyway, to answer the original question, it can be fun if you don't have a specific idea for a pet, because it might get zapped into something cool that inspires you. the zapper can also add stats to your pet, but it's not an especially efficient way to do this compared to just training, battling, spending EXP, and using boosters.

it's also the main way to get an experiment if you have a particular one you want your pet to be, but it is random so you could spend lots of time and sP and wizard tokens trying to get your desired experiment to no avail. there's also the Experimental Dew, which changes your pet into a random experiment when used on them, and the Miracle Potion II, which allows you to change your pet into any species of your choosing, including experiments.

Items and minions can still be zapped. I think the first item in your inventory is affected if you get that one

I haven't used it in years, so take this with a grain of salt, there have been many changes since I did use it.

Frankly, I found it boring and stressful, not in the least bit exciting. Of course I didn't have any idea of what I wanted, I was just experimenting because I was testing out different parts of the site. I was always terrified that I would zap the wrong pet. I got TC spots, stats, lots of gender changes, and a whole bunch of swampies and experiment 404.

Personally, I think you need to have some idea of what you're looking for. If you just choose to keep going until you get something that makes you go 'wow' you could end up zapping for years, not that there aren't impressive pets, but more because of the 'gambling' factor. You think, well that's great, but maybe the next one will be a bigger wow! On the other hand having only 1 specific pet you're you're trying for is a recipe for frustration. Somewhere in the middle, where there are several pets you have in mind, but are not wedded to any of them because you could run into a 'wow' that you didn't realize existed.

Definitely think its worth playing with, if only to see for yourself how you react. A lot of people really enjoy it, you might too. Then there are the love/hate types who feel both ways, and finally some like me who won't touch it with a ten foot pole!
