The creator of the beloved anime & manga franchise, Dragon Ball, passed away of an acute subdural hematoma in his office on March 1st at the age of 68. :c
I remember hearing about this. He died of a blood clot in the brain. R.I.P. Toriyama. I have a lot of friends whose intro into anime in middle/high school was DBZ.
i started watching the dbz anime with a friend last year. it's crazy to think about :(
can bite for: ant agony, bulbous, clamorous, creeping, death roe, deathgrip, doom bloom, eau de ceased, escargloom, fevermore, lotus, metalmorphosis, mistery meat, snack o lantern, stalacbite, threadful, wrapture, yggdrakill
I can't believe we lost him so soon. Literally in the middle of another new creative endeavor. My husband got me into it a few years ago and I've watched every movie, series, and read almost all the manga except the newer chapters of Super.
I basically lived in a Dragon Ball hoodie when I was nursing my daughter so one of her first words ended up being Goku. We will always be huge fans!

I definitely got teary-eyed when processing the news. DBZ was one of the first shows I really got into when I was a kid, and definitely launched me into the anime world. It's been a part of my life for almost as long as I can remember, and will always have a special place in my heart. I've been thinking about getting a DBZ tattoo, for a long time now but especially since his passing.
In my mind Toriyama was just one of those titan figures, who you don't think of as being a regular person, who has always been there and would always be there. And although he may not be, his legacy definitely will.
