We have tons of great environment art that quite literally illustrates the world of Subeta, but when we go to a shop, we're still presented with this Web 2.0 Neopets format of a shopkeep in a white void.
Thoughts on a bit of an update? Nothing crazy, just throw the regional environment flavor art behind the NPCs when we go visit them for whatever purpose. Maybe stick the Subetapedia blurb about the region there too. That way we get to see them tied more directly to their region of residence. I was today years old when I found out that Spells Galore was a Sacred Lands shop, which is a shame, because I do love lore!
I did a quick, crunchy mockup on my phone, but I really can't do too much of this stuff at once, so bear with me:

I like this idea! Subeta has such a beautiful world and cool lore, bringing this more to the spotlight is lovely!
As someone trained in this kind of thing, that is an incredible idea and an excellent mockup. This would definitely spruce up the site and add new visual appeal without being very code heavy.

I love this idea! The website I work on uses the same design pattern and is very optimized for mobile. I think this would look super cool.
I second this; some splash art, as simple as it sounds, would make these pages (and, by extension, the site as a whole) much more fun to visit. Then again, I'm a real sucker for worldbuilding so this sounds especially fun to me.
Ooh, I like this idea a lot! Looks pretty simple to implement and adds character to the shops.
Love the idea of adding extra character to the shops and NPCs.
