Hello, I'm Fletch.

My dashboard says that I've been a member for 17 years, 7 months, 2 weeks, 3 days. The last time I was active, though... is actually too far back for me to remember. It would have been when we were still doing account clearings to obtain legacy pet names. So... maybe I've been away since I started my career? That would have been sometime in 2016. I've tried to drop in a few times a year. But today I thought, "I once really loved Subeta," and decided to return as a genuine player.

My favorite part of the site are the virtual pets. Stories, artwork, roleplay, treasure chests, profiles -- I love every last bit of ye ol' virtual pet life. I find the HAs created here to be masterful and delightful, but I can't be bothered to make my own. I thank the artists who gave us the vanishing cream and dozens of overlay items to fill the void beneath my username. (Thank you, really). But to be honest, I find it kind of ironic that I haven't delved into HAs much, because in IRL, I'm really into fashion. Granted, it isn't fashion most people would join, but it is still a passion of mine. CWs scare my wallet, though.

Ok, I should say something about me. I'm... a person. Yes. I'm enby, any pronoun. I'm creative, and I like to build things with my hands. I love the color red. I am fueled by tea and dreary weather. And... I'm kinda bad at talking. I cover it up by doing tasks for people. It's a lot easier to ask someone, "how can I help you?" or "what can I fix for you?" than to hold a casual conversation.

Like, "if you sit at a meal with me, I'll describe food off the menu for you" kind of bad.

So, how can I help the community as a non-lurker? The forums seem kind of quiet. Are people in the forum groups instead, or discord servers?

I'm a fellow long-time user who has been active and inactive at various time. Pets are for sure the best part of the site, I am far too attached to them and have IRL anxiety sometimes about the idea of them disappearing LOL.

It seems like the forums have been a bit slow and I don't know about off site chats, but if you want to check out the Subeta Pets forum there are some chats there like the Pet Spotlight Support that can be fun for folks who have a passion for pets! I really like the profile design you have for your pets! If you're into profiles and graphics you can always hang out in the Creative Corner forums to discuss graphics, coding, art, and writing.

I hope you enjoy the site as much as you once did! It's a nice place to spend time and relax.

welcome back! I too come and go, and have been inactive at times, but I always end up missing my pets too much. I like building things too! I used to build things for my job! the forums have definitely been slower than they use to be, I think that's just how the internet is anymore. there is a discord for subeta, that might be more active, but I don't really talk in it much, so I can't say for sure. either way, there's still people hanging around, even if it is quieter.

I don't normally use milk when I make omelettes, is that why they never come out good? would a platypus omelette even taste good?

Thank you! Kamots, Chemukh, and Matsi are all named for IRL wolves from the Sawtooth Mountain Pack, which was a research project focused on learning about the secret lives of wolves. Very interesting book / documentary if you're into that kind of thing!

Fun fact! It would be hard to collect the milk for the omelet from the platypus! They actually "sweat" or "leak" milk across their underside versus having specific erm ...nursing parts and the babies lick it off of them.

yeah, definitely think the move from personal computers to mobiles did a number on a lot of sites. you CAN visit subeta on mobile, but it's easier on a computer. but subeta is also slowly working on a new site, which might make navigating on mobile easier? either way, there's less activity around here, but there's still activity. this last luminaire felt very active! but also, this is all coming from someone who isn't very active on the forums anymore, so maybe I am completely wrong and it's actually thriving and better than it's ever been.
