Me... I cooked Christmas dinner for my family. I fried some catfish nuggets, and also had Cornish hen, made some Potato salad, green beans and Hawaiian rolls. I also made a Chocolate cake and had two pies.. Key Lime and Pecan. And had Iced tea that I made.
Mineself, most friends or family haven't invited mine to join them, or may still be asleep...
ATM mine is holding the fort until later. Mine is opening mine prizes for finishing the last semester. At some point mine will start watching the Terminator series, per mine tradition.
Mine getting hungry, zo some leftovers are on the menu.
The 25th is just another day to mine...
Gathered with family and friends. Watched the kids play with and subsequently steal each other's new toys. Played games. Made breakfast of eggs, pancakes and beef hash. Waiting to make a ham dinner.
FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
Half of me wishes I did something exciting, the other half just kind of wished for a more relaxing day haha. I slept in, which was nice, and when I got up made cappuccinos for myself and my mom. I got us a milk frother during black friday and I have to say it's already paid for itself at this point haha. After that is was watching Christmas specials of shows we like to watch, sneak off from family things to be on Subeta and do quests, make dinner and continue to hide in my room to avoid family stress. I'm not usually a big fan of holidays because my mom is so used to big family holiday dinners that she plans and tries to make big fancy meals starting with breakfast even though it's only three of us celebrating these holidays now and eventually ends up angry that 1. My stepdad and I really don't want to spend the time and money for food that will only end up going to waste, and 2. Most of it never gets done because she has absolutely no concept of time or consideration of other people's schedules.
This is the first year dinner wasn't some overly complicated thing like a whole roast chicken or turkey with seven sides and I'm very grateful for that. And lunch was just some charcuterie boards. As the one doing dishes, I feel like that's the other reason I'm so grateful to have an easy Christmas foodwise this year.
We had to open gifts early due to one of my roommates having to work Christmas/Yuletide. It ended up being pretty quiet and a good day for the most part.
“Who are you, that do not know your history?” - Ulysses, Fallout: New Vegas, Lonesome Road.
Slept, watched Christmas movies and the Doctor Who Christmas special. I'd like to say it was something more exciting, but my parents are going on a cruise to Antartica on the 28th with my aunt and uncle, ( they're enjoying their retirement life) and in general, our family, even when I was a kid, never really celebrated Christmas beyond putting up a tree and lights so usually my Christmases are pretty boring.
Me and my boyfriend also slept in and then watched Christmas movies. We ended up watching one of the Frozen/Olaf shorts and it was honestly way better than I was expecting. I thought it was going to be too childish, but there's something really sweet and comforting about Christmas movies during that this time of year.
I enjoy laid-back Christmas. We had our stressful "Christmas" the day before, seeing both my boyfriend's parents' sides of the family, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Agh.
Casual and perpetually coming back.
.
There's a couple Christmas movies I tend to watch every Christmas. I watched Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas on the Winter solstice on the 21st. But I do like the classic Christmas movies, Frosty, Rudolph, etc.
Our original thing was that since my parents and relatives( aunt and uncle) were flying out on their own retirement winter vacation on the 28th, we kind of just skipped over Christmas this year which I'm ok with since they were spending Christmas/Christmas Eve packing.
Oh we watched Mickey's Christmas Carol! (Surprisingly short!) We also watched Pluto's Christmas with Chip and Dale and I have to say, I really dislike Chip and Dale after that one. They're so mean to Pluto :( My boyfriend's family usually watches A Christmas Story and my mom always watches the 1951 Christmas Carol movie. On VHS if we can find it and a VCR. (God bless.)
Wow, I can't imagine starting a trip right at Christmas. That's one of the most expensive times to travel!
Congrats on the quieter Christmas though. Chill Christmases are great. :)
Casual and perpetually coming back.
They actually booked it because the cruise was cheaper at this time than during high season in the summer, XD.
But yeah, flying out during Christmas is usually super expensive. I watched Mickey's Christmas Carol too; I like that it's nice and short. Usually it's a combination of a bunch of movies during Christmas I end up watching, didn't watch the Grinch and I usually end up watching that one every year. I just didn't get around to watching it this year. Chill Christmases are amazing. :D
