omg YES i don't think i'm gonna make it this year (and i probably won't dress up if i do...) but they're soooo much fun
banner by Absolutely! And I always dress up to some degree when I go. I won't say it's easy to walk around in a corset all day, though.

I've never dressed up but theres a decent sized one that come near me every year so i have been a few times. Have you guys seen the washing well wenches?
I think I enjoy more formal/realistic reenactment events a bit more, but ren faires are always fun. I like how creative you can be with the fantasy elements, seeing elves and fauns and stuff running around is cool! I'm excited to check out my local one next year, I haven't really gone anywhere or done anything fun since I moved here 2 years ago.
I have! It's been a long time, but I remember enjoying them a lot.

I haven't been to one in years but used to go to them twice a year. Unfortunately, the two I regularly attended have stopped now. I need to find a new local one ;)

Big highlight for me is the food and the jousting. Its fun cheering on a knight and booing at their opponents. One time we had a knight that we could not tell what their name was. It was either Daryl, Garret, Darren or something similar. We had a bit of fun calling him all the names. Strangers even joke with you. Its also cool to see all the costumes. We had two dark elves who were all dresses up to the T and had black body paint. It was dedication.
I enjoy going when I can and during warmer weather. I hope to save up enough money to buy a full outfit for fair stuff or make my own.
I've never been to one but I have an incredible need.

I don't cosplay in them, I'm not a big cosplayer in general for any cons I go to, but I've gone to Renaissance fests before and liked them. The jousting matches are always cool.
I've been attending the medieval week fest in Visby, Sweden for like five...ish years now, because my friend lived on the island and its a short flight from Finland. Its gorgeous, because the entire town feels like its stuck in the middle ages. We've been upping our dress game year by year, although I still don't technically have a period-accurate outfit, mostly because the large skirts and dresses are incredibly heavy and too large for a carry-on suitcase.
I'd like to attend a renfaire though, I feel like all the nordic ones are specifically medieval in nature, with mostly modest dress. I do love the atmosphere though, with the smithies and medieval food and jolly live music etc. And of course the jousting, that's always a highlight.
Yes! I should be going to a small one nearby in May! :)
I went to a renaissance faire once in middle school and I want to go to one again so much :')

I used to really enjoy the ren faire in those halcyon pre-pandemic days, and I'd dress up nearly every year too. costuming isn't really my thing anymore (never say never again but at this point in my life it's just not happening) but I'd still love to go again.
I've since moved further away from the locale I used to visit though, so I'll have to do some scouting and looking around closer to the season. I'm always down for an overpriced drink so long as it's accompanied by some appropriately bawdy songs.
