Samhain is an ancient Celtic festival that marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter.
It holds deep spiritual significance as it honors our ancestors, acknowledges the time of year when the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds is thinnest, and embraces the mysteries of life and spirits.
The translation of Samhain means “Summer’s End,” and it’s actually pronounced saah-win or saah-ween.
During this contest, you can compete in different Samhain rituals for winning a CW. You may participate in as many rituals as you want and can also enter several HAs for each. Each ritual requires new HA(s) and the answer to the question which comes with it.
Please create new HA(s) for this contest and don't reuse old ones. All wearables are at your disposition, you don’t have to own them. It is not necessary to add the prize items to your HA.
The contest ends Saturday 18th of November at midnight Subeta time. EDIT: Extended until Monday 27th of November.

Festival of Tara by pythonesque Crisp autumn nights dancing under the open sky Honoring the summer months that have passed by Autumn is here The harvest is near For the feast and the food and the changing season we rejoice And sing a fiery tune with our chorus like one voice
Samhain Nature Walk by pythonesque I take a nature walk for edible plants and mushrooms! I'm also careful not to disturb nature too much and dress in layers, along with a hat, to keep safe in the elements.
Samhain Table Outfit Not Found The offering table is full of food from gardens and plants. I make sure to bring some extra mushrooms and plants I foraged on my walk, as well as some food for all the animals who show up, because they're an important part of harvest and nature and the cycle of how things work.
The Festival of Tara
Outfit Not Found The end of summer is near But there is no need to fear Our spirit friends are here So there is no need to shed a tear We offer this dance to you Won't you come dance with us too?
Samhain Nature Walk
by Xealias Strolling through the forest, I collect colourful leaves and flowers and place them in my little basket to decorate my home. It feels so good to breathe in fresh air and enjoy the chirping sounds of birds. As I walk deeper into the forest, I stumble upon an area where apple trees are grown, and so I pick up a few to enjoy. Little did I know, a squirrel and a birdie followed me home because they wanted to eat some delicious apples too!
Samhain Table
by Xealias My placed gift is a candle. It seems to have the ability to attract spirits. Could it be because the bit of warmth can soothe their souls?
Séance and Divinatory
Outfit Not Found A powerful fortune teller who uses a crystal ball to tell you everything that you want to know. It could be about the past, the present, and the future. With an incantation, she can also summon any supernatural beings including ghosts, spirits and souls. I would ask her to call forth my aunt who passed away a few years ago to ask if she's doing well on the other side.
Divine Invocations
by Xealias The Horned God of Nature (Hopefully I looked up the right one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horned_God) The Horned God is "the personification of the life force energy in animals and the wild" We humans sacrifice animals on a daily basis to help with our own survival. I chose the Horned God of Nature to honour the animals who passed away, may you all rest in peace.

Here are my HA's of all Categories....yes it took me this long to do it. >.>
Festival of Tara
Through the veil at the turn of night, like moths, are spirits drawn to light.
We light the candles and lanterns to guide the way, on the start of Winter this Sacred Day
The ones who've gone, the ones who linger, these are the ones whom we remember.
The Oak King kneels and bows his head, offering Holly his turn in stead.
We sing for joy, we sing for sorrow, into the dreaming Samhain shadows.

Samhain Nature Walk
Yes this is totally me in a cloak walking on a foggy Samhain night. I will often end up with pretty leaves and acorns to bring home on my walks. And photos of leaves with water beads on them.

Samhain Table
I have a side table or buffet sort of table by my front door, and one end of it is my Altar. I almost always place a few autumn leaves or a few springs of flowers, herbs, a bit of moss..something from outside when I go on a walk. Here there are lit candles, and leaves...and maybe something that followed me home that sent the leaves flying.

Seance and Divinatory
This Medium is talking to someone. . . The space certainly has the right mood.
If I could talk to anyone who's gone now, it'd be my Dad or my Uncle. Especially Daddy though, I miss him so much.

Divine Invocations
My Invocation is to Mother Moon, always Her first, regardless of whom else I call upon. She is my Mother Goddess figure, and this is My prayer to her.
Mother Moon, guide my path, guide my head, my heart, my hands. Let your light fall from behind, that I may see what lies ahead. Mother Moon, with your blessing, I know I'll never walk alone. With your silver light above me, I will find my own way home. Mother Moon Samhainby Khaiya
Herbs and Spices
I am a baker, I bake Yule gifts every year. form cookies and cakes to bread and pastries. Caramels, and curds. I use warming spices like cinnamon and cloves, allspice, coriander, anise, star anise, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger and mace. They al taste lovely, but they also are all used as medicine. My kitchen is as much a healing space as a cooking space. Herbs are as varied as the spices, catnip and chamomile, skullcap, and peppermint, linden blossoms, and hyssop, elderflower and berry. Thyme and rosemary, sage, savory. Oregano's sharp resiny taste, basil's spicy sweetness. Have a belly complaint? I'll make you tea with honey and catnip, chamomile and mint. The first HA is me in my kitchen, baking up a storm with all the lovely things, orange and cinnamon shortbread is a solid favorite.
The second is the greenhouse I want to have, There will always be catnip growing..which is my choice for the singular herb in this...and apparently the space has been raided by things what like the herbs. but especially the catnip. Here it MUST be kept in a container the cats cannot get into.
