Why the heck do those ToT links expire? We have soooo much to do with constant ToTing (which rarely results in what we're after), Patch, collecting pumpkins, battling in addition to all the daylies plus may be one or the other activities here every now and then. We get the event (which is a minute late anyway, so we try earlier ourselves) and make a quick click on the prepared spot on the page, then go back to what we were doing - here or in the real world. But no, would be too userfriendly and save time, we need to go back, refresh the forum page, wait for it to load, find the month we need, then click again. It's no fun but annoying as hell! It's a wonder the Patch doesn't expire. 😡
I made a topic on this over here too because, out of all the holiday links, the ToT remains the clunkiest, most unfriendly bit of navigation onsite that I can think of right off the top of my head.

it expires to prevent people from setting an autorefresher on the link and cheating.
But that could happen on so many other aspects of the site, couldn't it? And autorefreshing wouldn't prevent the cool down time, would it? They'd still have to wait.
sssshhhh... gosh, I hope I'm not giving staff ideas...
Uh... since when is auto refreshing "cheating"? It's always been allowed as far as I can recall. Did that change?
it's never been allowed. keith frowns upon it, but staff can't really do anything about it because the site is so huge. so they can't check who's autorefreshing and who isn't.
this has always been staff's stance on autorefreshers.
this is the reasoning behind why holiday action links expire.
I've been giving the wrong answer to friends and guildies for a decade 😬
Good to know.
Not a perfect solution, but there's a notepad widget that I keep towards the top of my sidebar with ToT links (and other holiday interactions). You can check the thread, add a couple names of people from the month you're looking for, and ToT from there as you're going about your business on the site maybe?
^ This. You can also use sCode in the notepad and add spoilers on spoilers. I have mine all decked out with links i need to battle.
And if that's too clunky - you could always set something up on a pet page or your own forum group with a condensed version of your list and add a bookmark.
2 extra clicks is not that time consuming and there are a lot more areas that need changes more than a 2 week event for this small of an annoyance.
