Well it's me, the worst person you would ever meet here on Subeta. So I once made a thread here on the site about indie "horror" games. I discuss three games that many people considered as the fall of these types of games, all stemming from Five Nights at Freddy's and other games from back in the day. Those being Poppy Playtime, Rainbow Friends and Garten of Banban. These games have been criticized for their simplistic character designs, terrible gameplay, and shady business practices. I feel like doing another one of those because it's starting to become bloat, with ups and downs in the mix. First let's look at the more recent things going one with the games I talked about previously and what they came to, and then I will about the newer ones.

Poppy Playtime: I said before that the main controversy is Mob Studios' business practices. Ever since their apology, and the release of Chapter 2, they've been a bit silent. Not only they made a mobile game called Project Playtime, which is basically similar to Dead by Daylight, but they also made more videos their Minecraft animation accounts, until they stopped with the release of a Garten of Banban video, where Jumbo Josh busts in Playtime co, and Huggy Wuggy goes though this crisis about the whole indie horror genre, like if he knew that mascot horror isn't the same as it once was, until Josh starts singing a parody of Kermit the Frog's Rainbow Connection. (Jumbo Josh in this video sort of became a meme because of the way he talked like, "I'm Jumbo Josh brah, from indie horror Garten of Banban Brah!") Also chapter 3 is being worked on.

Rainbow Friends: Heard quite a few good things about the second Rainbow Friends experience on Roblox. Rainbow Friends Chapter 2 has us finally see what these creatures are the mascots for. A theme park called, Odd World. This was hinted in the first game when you ride the bus and Red kidnaps you. Happen to like the look of this park. You can definitely tell that Fragment Studios worked pretty hard on it. Also the fact they introduced two new monsters into the game. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, the merch! This time it's official. Roblox used to make merch for experiences, but probably because of the whole thing with Piggy, Roblox decided to stop so that they can let the creators do it.

Garten of Banban: Despite the bad reputation that Banban had, it appears that the Euphoric Brothers are starting to improve, if you look at the third game, it almost seems that they are aware of the internet's perspective on the game, by making it more comedic. There were those scenes where Stinger Flynn puts your inside of his dreams, with one involving being of his car with other kindergarten mascots, and they all get into an argument, so Flynn played a fan song on the radio. I think that the funniest moment in the game is Mr. Kebab Man, just because of his lines. Also the forth game is pretty good. They got voice actors for Sheriff Toadster, Queen Bouncelia, and Bittergiggle, and they all did a really good job with each of them. And oh yeah, one moment in this game has Choo Choo Charles in it, which is like the most random moment ever. Also, if you get exposed to Garten of Banban related content on YouTube for the last few months, than you'll know that there's been a whole lot of content farms making fake gameplay videos, introducing a tone of fan made characters like Chef Pigster and Coach Pickles. Some of it is so saturated with barely any connection to the actual game, to the point it could straight up become its own mascot horror game.

Now let's look at some more recent games that have been noticed by the YouTube scenes

Amanda the Adventurer: A unique mix of both mascot horror and analog horror. It's like a cursed version of Dora the Explorer that has you spell out things. Not going to go too deep into this, but honestly, this is probably the most creative of these games in this era of indie horror. Also seen a whole lot of compilations of spelling with different results, like some involving typing a favorite pie flavor, like with Mutton, cause Amanda's Boots counterpart is a sheep named Wooly, and when you type in Mutton, Wooly would gasp in fear. I thought that was pretty funny.

My Friendly Neighborhood: It's basically a game where you shoot Muppets. Not going to go too deep, but Daggs made a great video about it.

Joyville: Though it's seemingly a mix of all three games I talked about, it's actually not that bad after watching a let's play on it. Over on my DeviantArt account, I did some fan art of than one monster known as Wooly Bully, that I thought was pretty cute:

Indigo Park: The last thing I am discussing is a game that isn't out yet. Remember UniqueGeese, who made that one remake of Garten of Banban? That same person is making his own game now. The game is inspired by his interest in the Disney parks and the monster is an AI racoon named Rambly. He confirmed other mascots will be in this game, with another confirmed one being a pilot macaw named Mollie.
