I've been waiting for this thread to pop up but so far I haven't seen any. Do you play / are you planning to play? Have you played any other BGs? Thoughts, opinions, romance choices? I haven't finished the game yet myself, but I have dumped a good 100 hours into it, and so far I'm absolutely loving it, definitely one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
I actually had to restart my playthrough after I chickened out from the Dark Urge origin, it gave me too much anxiety regarding certain choices, and I thought I'd best do a Nice Playthrough first, just to see most of what's available. I was pleasantly surprised when I could pretty much import a DND 5e character directly into the game, multiclass and all. Basil Lucksmith is a trickery domain cleric + academy of swords bard, here to sell you snake oils aplenty. I'd love to hear more about people's characters, funny tidbits, anything.
As for the older Baldur's Gate games, I think I have both of them, but I know for a fact I have the enhanced edition of the first one. I've played it a bit, but my character was eaten by a bear three minutes in, tops, when I decided to do as murder hobos adventurers do and explore the forest. I, uh, haven't played it since. >>;

This is my first BG and so far I'm loving it. Playing a human monk in a game with my wife, who's playing a drow wizard. Having played D&D before ever knowing BG existed, I was super shocked at how well they managed to import the experience of Doing Pretty Much Anything You Want into a video game. So far I've been having a great time - though I almost wish we didn't start at level 1; we were so squishy.
And don't even get me started on the romance options. I love all these NPCs too much, they're all so interesting. I'm legit stressing over who I want to Officially Romance. (Though I will say Halsin's bear scene makes him a strong contender. I can't just NOT see that for myself.)
- Although she might not be 100% accurate, you do get a "guardian" character in addition to your PC, so you could make both the siblings!

I know they've been updating a few things like that upon request, so who knows, you might get your chance! I know that when I made my guardian I just did something random because I didn't know what their role was going to be, and now I'm pinching myself because I have a cool in-universe character idea for them. If not, ideas for future playthroughs...
I was so hyped for this game and it hasn't disappointed too much. The only disappointing thing i can think of is SPOILER (click to toggle)
The Emperor/Dream Visitor romance, i NEED more scenes/moments with them...don't know if this needed a spoiler but thought i'd add it just to be sure?
I love the good dark urge playthrough, just the constant conflict within the character is chefs kiss I was actually starting the first BG game when 3 got fully released, haven't finished it yet though.
OH! I forgot to mention the whole romance thing was stressing lmao, being nice to your companions makes them wants to jump your bones, like i felt so bad rejecting them..
I hadn't planned on playing BG3 because my backlog is enormous and I decided I shouldn't buy any more new games. But then nobody wants to be the DM when our current adventure ends in our D&D group (I just finished DMing an adventure that lasted 2.5 years so I asked the others to take over) and someone suggested we should play BG3 coop.
So I bought it last week. It did not disappoint. I'm amazed how they managed to make it feel exactly like playing D&D, with the narrator and the many ways you can resolve a conflict. I played BG1 around 5 years ago and started BG2 right after, but got kinda burned out and I don't understand the 2e rules so I had no clue what I was doing and quit BG2 somewhere in the beginning.
I've never played D&D before, and know very little about it. I'm sincerely confused and overwhelmed with levelling up and battles, but I'm also having the BEST time. The characters are so amazing and believable (although unsure why everyone keeps trying to get intimate with me...?!). I just need to put some time into understanding how to fight, and then I'm golden.
i'm not big on d&d (i like other ttrpgs more) OR big open world games BUT i'm having a BLAST with bg3 so far omg. playing a tiefling bard who's kintsugi themed (and also named that LMAO) and they're VERY pretty :3
banner by I expect I'll play it someday (I played the first two games back in the day, plus all the other dnd games like Icewind Dale and Neverwinter Nights) but have not yet. That said, I've been trying to keep up with the news on it!
Have my doubts but hoping they will add a playable Aarakocra race someday, so I can make my tt main. :D

I literally bought a PS5, JUST so I could play BG3 and have loved every minute. Finished 2 balanced playthroughs. One as High Elf Druid Tav and one as Tiefling Wizlock (wizard warlock) Dark Urge. Absolutely recommend the Durge route. I'm on my third playthrough as Origin Astarion on Tactician mode and I literally cannot believe the game feels different every time I play. There always seems to be different voiced lines, a little secret here or there, or entirely different cutscenes. I still can't convince myself to do a full evil playthrough, just dragging the companions you care about through hell, makes me grimace. So much work and care went into this masterpiece. Some games have souless NPC's but this is one of those few games where so much life was given to the characters. Utterly the best game I have ever played. Love the world building and love the characters even more.
Spoilers:
Hardest battles for me (in this order)
Most touching moments in the game for me:
I'm familiar with Larian's work, so I knew what I was getting myself into. Loved Divinity Original Sin 2 ( ❤ Fane, Sebille, Lohse). I own Divinity Original Sin, but didn't finish that one.

i truly adore this game, i powered through two consecutive playthroughs at the full release but i must admit ive fallen off a little with finishing my other playthroughs. i played a little of divinity 2 but just couldnt get in to it for whatever reason, but bg3 grabbed me and shook me around like a sock.
i suppose it helps that ive always been a huge fan of mindflayers ;w;
