So I finally hit tier 13 recently. I've trained pretty evenly, with HP slightly outpacing everything else (Lilahtov, if anyone wants to look at details, is my battle pet), mostly out of convenience of training vs battle quests. I have adhd so consistency is NOT my jam. I know it's not optimized, and that's fine. Plenty of room before I hit the stat cap. But I'm debating what makes the most sense from here: I don't want to have to deal with swapping the perfect weapon combo in every time I want to battle, so I'm thinking I want a tank pet. So main focus on health/strength/defense. But a few things I haven't been able to find good info on:

  1. When does it make sense to stop training speed? Is there a similar point for defense?
  2. I vaguely remember something about certain level numbers kicking up the price/time on training, is that a thing or did I confuse this with another pet site?

Thanks!

The main point of speed is to avoid critical hits from your opponents. The closer your speed is to your opponent's, the smaller the chance of receiving a crit hit. Right now there are only about 10 permanent challengers with over 7k speed. I think that would be a good stopping point. However, some people opt for a little bit more for bosses, particularly Hydragellos, which has 8k speed. I chose 7,501 for Crimsyn because I can boost the last 500 points if needed (Volatile Energized Mecha + Thunderball), with the one extra point to avoid a speed tie.

Strength and defense work differently. Their usefulness is determined by formulas which you can find in the In-depth Battle Guide. The denominator in the defense formula is slightly smaller than that in the strength formula so your defensive stat will go slightly further than your strength. That's why I opted to give Crimsyn slightly less defense than strength instead of keeping them even.

Health is pretty straightforward. However, most weapons have a heal cap, which means they will only heal a percentage of up to 10,000 HP. For instance, weapons that heal 10% will often cap at healing 999 HP per turn. That's just something to keep in mind when deciding on your final health build.

I think someone has a table for training times somewhere, but I don't know who off the top of my head. Basically training times increase on the 50s, so 50, 150, 250, 350 levels, etc. And then price appears to be based on per point of your level.

These are the stats of my 18th T13 pet, which just got there recently: Level: 1893 Health: 8550 / 8550 Strength: 4731 Defense: 4074 Speed: 4708 Intelligence: 3715 AP: 232 Tier: 13 (max!)

I put all of my EXP toward health as I'm making my push to T13, and then I start BQing with my next pet when I've reached it.
He will get a little more defense, mainly through tomes, but I will concentrate on strength and speed in training for now.
