I recently adopted a Nightmare Serpenth and am looking for a custom overlay. Not being the fantasy gifted person, what I have in mind is basically a slightly altered redraw/mix of existing Subetan art, but am open for any proposals resembling the direction of my idea.

Also probably for my Hydrus Paralix, but I still need to find, what I liked, on my yet to be reactivated old computer.

sorry for the delay! Real life has a nasty tendency of taking over... My basic idea is Cozcoatlus The Head/Face is perfect, the teeth should be white. The body and coils per se are fine for me, too.

The headdress doesn't need to be feathers, probably transform the feathers at the sides to a cobralike extended neckflap instead. for unknown reasons the minion will not appear with the img tag... https://img.subeta.net/items/minion_nun.gif Maybe keep only the/an ornament in the middle of the forehead, but the gold must be "real" shiny gold - engulfing a sparkling gemstone? And keep the feathers or whatever merely on the top of the neck? So he has a smaller crown than the original, so to speak. The redish/purple would be o.k. for me, unless you come up with anything better ;-)

The body could be in an emerald color and then perhaps give the belly scales a teal shade (loooove teal, turquoise and emerald), or kind of what the back scales are now, but I'm open to colour suggestions. Or also a shiny gold - to be honest, I have no idea, what could match/look good :-( The head itself could come down to the front/middle, so it would be more prominent, but that's not a must.

Something I have a big problem with all Serpenths are the wings. I feel that they are too far down the body to sustain/ make ist possible to fly. And they look weird, where they are. So they should be moved to where the feathers end, thus they'd mostly be hidden behind the head, of course.

I wasn't sure, what I'd like my new snake to look like, and then I stumbled over Cozcoatlus again, so that kind of solved my problem for the basic look. Maybe you have your own idea for a fierce yet beautiful royal serpenth. I'm up for suggestions, if you feel like it.

I really like the idea! Pardon the hideous Frankenstein construction of this, just wanted to make a quick mock-up for pose. Something like this? I wasn't quite sure if you meant the wings could be where the head feathers end, or where the neck feathers end. I think either would be better for flying haha.

I like the hues/colours you used on the neck flap, though. Also leaving the side stripe (between back and belly) with that part of the original looks cool, I think.

Perfect, the color refs are a huge help! :D For reference before I make a better sketch, do you want to keep the art from the head and body in the final piece and essentially do a recolor with a few details changed or do you want a similar redraw of it with the same concept and pose etc?
