The Item Directory hides Melody Items by default on searches unless you check the "show spoilers" box. This has been a problem on multiple occasions when I'm just trying to make a search and a bunch of the results are missing due to forgetting to check that little box.

It got to the point I thought it was a bug and tried to report it until I realized that ALL Melody Items are considered "spoilers", even REALLY OLD ones.

The alternative would be only NEW Melody Items be considered "spoiler" and hidden by default, but OLD Melody Items shouldn't be sucked into the mix and hidden from Item Directory searches.

This is a minor gripe, but a gripe nonetheless. Whenver I forget to check the show spoiler box, I'm missing valuable results I'm looking for. My search terms are for ALL items, not ALL items EXCEPT Melody items.

I always thought it was weird that Melody items were considered a spoiler in the first place. Why aren't other event items spoilers? Not to mention by the time you can see them in the directory you can just go visit Melody and get them for yourself.

I'd be cool with just removing the whole spoiler thing from the directory. Either that, or using it to hide when event items are added, and then removing the spoiler flag once they're fully onsite and available.

Considering that all Melody items that should turn up in the wardrobe anyways without a spoiler normally the day or two before, it's pointless.

Back in the day there used to be more spoiler items. If I recall correctly, the monthly collection bag items were also ticked as "spoiler" items. Possibly a few more (I'm thinking trivia prizes may have been). Gradually they stopped that practice until now, only the Melody items remain in that category.

With certain site changes its become more and more difficult not to end up with "spoiled" Melody items, even when you make sure you get those items as the very first thing you do onsite throughout the month.

I for one do appreciate the "surprise" of Melody items, I'm happy they are not plastered all over the place. And yet as said, they are visible a few days ahead of time in the wardrobe and I'm way more likely to see them accidentally in there than I am to "accidentally" click in the Item Directory Building. Also people have a tendency to wear those items as soon as they get them, so I'm likely to see them on people's HAs as soon as I venture into the forums.

It does seem to be rather pointless to maintain the Melody spoiler restriction in the item directory.

I understand that not everyone will want to see the new Melody items before they're given out (because they're often added in advance). But as someone else here said, there's nothing preventing them from showing up in the wardrobe, and there's loads of other items that people might not want to be spoiled by if added enough time before official release. Really, the best way to avoid spoilers for new items is to just not look at the directory.

I agree that the spoiler function should just be removed from the directory. As others have said there's multiple other factors that make the spoilering pretty useless.
