I posted this on Problems & Bugs / Quest / Game Issues, but for 10 days nobody has reacted :-(

Accidentally I noticed, that on the initial round, my mod crystals on the Charged Tower Shield are not recognized. 2 Earth an 1 Magma Defense Marquise Crystal From the 2nd round onwards (also if this is the 1st time the Shield is used), they show up.

Other than BoNA and CritStrike I don't have a lot of mods. While attack crystals work, I tried another weapon with defence crystals. Those also are not used in the first move.

Not good, because I was relying on the block, it didn't happen and cost me my life.

I don't remember any mention, that defensive mods don't work on the first move? Can any of the experienced battlers or battle admin shed some light on this?

This is usually a glitch triggered by either the mods or weapons they are on keeping code from working properly. Try using a different weapon combination and see if it still happens. There's a topic in the Problems & Bugs forum but I don't think staff ever responded.

I think we determined it was a cache issue. Almost all of the weapons that were affected for me were weapons that I had recently loaned out.

recommended removing the affected weapons from the armory and modifying them again through this page on a desktop. That seemed to clear up our issues, but I don’t know if it will work for everyone.

It happened to weapons I had never loaned out. Including ones that had been unchanged in my armory for years. Given how expensive most of the mods affected for me are, I wasn't up for losing them to test the fix.

For me it had happened on weapons that the mods had changed on. For example, when loaning them out, the other person put their own mod crystals on them and when I tried to remod them, they would stop working properly.

The thing I don’t get is that when I reversed the order of the crystals (like in this example), they still worked. It’s a super weird glitch and I don’t think there’s enough information on our end to figure it out.

Remodding seems to be the only solution for now, sadly. It may be possible to file a ticket to be reimbursed for any mods you lost, but I haven’t tried that yet.

The weirdest part for me is that the weapon combo seems to matter. When I use Hydragellos Possessed Eye with Volatile Energized Mecha the mods don't work. When I use either of them with different weapons the mods work fine.

As [User=Jess] said, this used to happen to me on certain weapons. The only commonality I could find is that I applied mods through the inventory method on mobile instead of through the armory using a laptop/desktop. Try removing the affected weapons and adding the mods through the armory

Actually I always mod in the armory. So sadly this can't be my workaround. I wouldn't know, that I ever loaned those weapons out, either. Weird, that the very other modded weapon I found and tried suffers the same glitch! I'm constantly out of time, so I don't battle a lot outside of events or BQs, thus I haven't earned too many of the new crystals myself yet. Eventually I'll probably go the ticket way, because I wouldn't want to shell out 500k or more for new mod crystals...

edit: Going by what ColdDragon mentioned I played around a bit, to see if the Shield would behave differently when paired with different weapons in the set. No change. Then I removed Intricate Energized Helmet from the set, and it turned out to have been the culprit, the def mods showed up on the first move! So I'll remove the helmet and remod it. That's cheap and easily done. Wonder if it'll work then...

edit 2: My assumption was not quite correct. Just used RotL together with the Shield on initial move with unchanged Helmet still in set - the Shield's def mods showed up.

I've now read the other thread. I don't have 2 of any weapon in my armory, either.

I see your problem is slightly different from mine. When I modded, they didn't work at all unless I swapped the weapon to the second attack slot and then the first weapon's mods wouldn't work. I would try and pull the shield out of the armory and put it back in with new mods and see if that fixes anything. Let me know if you need new mods and which defensive ones. I'll send you some

thank you so much for your advice and your kind offer! I'm not really poor, just a scrooch ;-) - and holding my money together for the probably never affordable/available big expenses. I'll play around with the weapons/sets somewhen. The event is over and the little one, for whom I found the modded Shield a good staple as soon as he had reached T8, managed it through the event somehow in spite of the missing defence...

it seems to be an altogether ... hm ... interesting glitch.

So I removed the Intricate Helmet from my armory. Put it back in, remodded with an even stronger but cheap attack Crystal, to play it safe also swapped the slots.

Charged Tower Shield's Mods now show up with Helmet in the set and when used together on first move.
