Hey! Is anyone here also interested/currently have an urban homestead? I know I will never be one of those aesthetically pleasing type homesteads on tiktok or youtube, and with the littles and the fulltime job I am not going to run off grid or anything like that buuut... I am really interested and enjoy canning ( rebel canning included ), last year we got 6 chickens ( just started laying consistently and I'm so proud of my girls ), I've been rendering our own tallow/lard and started making things ( made some tallow skin balm this morning :)), and just looking to start my grow bag garden this spring..
I didn't know if there was a niche here for these things or if I'm the only one who enjoys a crossover?
That is amazing! I recently got a book called "the backyard homestead" and I'm exploring different ideas to incorporate it into our lifestyle. I don't think I'm allowed to have chickens in the city I'm in, but maybe once we move I can get some chickens and plant a big veggie garden.
