My pet is tier 12 and I have still no luck to defeat this challenger. Which wheapons do I need for him?

• Deadroot primarily deals :dmg:wind:, :dmg:earth:, and :dmg🔥 icons and weapons like Swashbuckle, Blessed Trident, Manical Slappy Hand, Ornamented Hook Swords, Cursed Liquid Fire Torch, Possessed Bow, or Natasha would be best to use.

• The icon type it appears to block the least of is magma. You could consider using a few magma mod crystals on your weapons. Blessed Trident, Ornamented Hook Swords, and Possessed Bow deal magma attack icons so those might be the top three weapons to use.

• You can't freeze beyond the first turn because it has a blessing that prevents freezing, which means chain freezing isn't an option. However, it can freeze you so I recommend modifying your weapons with at least a few Parched Baguette Crystals.

• No chain freezing means using anything besides freezing scrolls would be useful. You can opt for extra attack, defense, or healing. Things like Cobalt Eternal Scroll for defense, Morosbane or Lucky Scrolls for extra attack, or Gift of the Forj Scroll for healing.

It's not a difficult challenger, but it can be annoying with all of the healing it can do. Its Rejuvenated Roots weapon also boosts its defense so it can get harder to beat the longer the battle goes on. Make sure to bring in blasters like Recycle Blaster and Soma Tablets to have a chance at hitting the Rejuvenated Roots. You can defeat it, just keep trying!

The unbuyables I do not have. I have the Liquid Fire Torch, Recycle Blaster, the Swashbuckle and several of the scrolls. I will try out this ones first. Thank you for your help!

to add onto Jess's great advice, even though Deadroot has the sanctuary blessing (antifreeze), it's worth noting that it's not a permanent blessing based on my own testing. also it's not guaranteed to proc at start of the battle--just something worth thinking about :)

I stand corrected! is right. If you wait until you’re sure the blessing is down (denoted by the ) you can try chain freezing. That would make things a whole lot easier, haha.

Thank you! It was hard, but I defeated him one time in the battle quest. The Eternal Flame, Swashbuckler and Perilous Whirlpool allowed me to freeze him at the first hit. When his blessing comes up, I mostly do not have a chance anymore. A lot of times it does not go away until almost the end of the battle.

Congrats! Do you own any 100% freezers that can freeze him on the first turn? Something like Gorgun or Intricate Energized Helmet? That may help, so you can use your other weapons with lower chances to freeze on subsequent turns.

Yes, I got the Intricate Energized Helmet and the Gate Keeper Collar of Slavery. Last one I did not try out on Deadroot yet. Yesterday one time I almost got him while I could chain freezing him and on the last turn he was unfreezed he used his blessing and I lost the battle, I did not expect.
