I'm having vague recollections of a stock market on here, did I imagine that? If not, any idea what happened to it?

i thought of that the other day too! Unfortunately, I do not know what exactly happened to it. I still found this: https://subeta.net/news.php?act=comments&newsid=3816 and there is a retired achievment regarding stock market

I miss it + the auctions. the auctions I can kind of understand leaving.

I too remember the stock market. Did it maybe glitch out and they decided it wasn't worth fixing? Did they decide it was too easy to make sP and felt it had a negative impact on the site economy? I can no longer remember why, but it was deliberately removed, it didn't just fade away because of glitches.

I seem to remember the stock market being removed because it was kind of neglected and they thought no one used it. Also I might be misremembering but I think one of the other reasons for the removal was because staff didnt see a point in even having it as a feature, it had only been added because "Neopets has a stock market so Subeta should too" and there came to be a point where they didn't want Subeta to just be a Neopets clone.

Yeah stocks and auctions were a thing. Like Jovi said I think that it was just a copy of neopets things like bank interest

oh man i remember the stock market, and the auctions. and i'm pretty sure quests used to be 30 per NPC per day? and 40 if you had a gold account or something? maybe i'm making that up. sounds right though. i joined this site in 7th grade, and i'm 25 now. lots has changed over the years! there used to be a super cute NPC that sold balloons too i think? and the computer shop owner also used to have quests? or maybe it wasn't the shop owner, but there were definitely computer themed item quests for an NPC at one point, cuz i can remember doing them and i remember the news post saying the computer quests were being retired.

There also used to be trivia too! I kinda miss it :c I would support some kind of game where users have to work together daily to guess the correct answer. Maybe not make it so it has unique prizes though, lol. Something like your choice in currency, or pick an old trivia prize. It'd definitely motivate me to check out the forums more!

I used to love the stocks and the trivia, oh, man, couldn't wait for it...such shame they're gone...

I miss the trivia and the auctions. Trades have kind of been stale without the actual fun of the auctions.
